I recently spent some time writing an application to your company, after you advertised on here for sample editors.

I never had any sort of reply from your company about it at all. I even posted on here asking about it...nothing.

I find it pretty rude seeing as I took the time to send my cv to you. I would have thought I was more than capable for the job at hand, but to just ignore my application is simply just rude :( :(

Dude, welcome to the world. They are really busy, they got a ton of resumes coming in left right and center, and in the post he said if i dont get back to you dont be offended. I send resumes AND dvd demos all over, they add up in price with the disc, printing, packaging and shipping and seriously, no one ever responds to me, no one verifies with me they received, to be honest - no one gives a flying f*** about me! This is life and as grim as it seems sometimes i love it, i wake up everyday and i'm just happy to be around and kickin' it making new tunes.

OH yeah and they're in the middle of hurricane recovery so dont expect a response today, tomorrow, or next week to start. I understand you are upset but these are busy people and you were forwarned about that before you sent it off. this is the job market, it's not an easy game to play. i think you should feel happy that they took the time to post the jobs and didnt just hand them off to a friend's nephew's girlfriend's friend like other companies usually do every week.

I understand that, but a simple ...click reply ...to my email to let me know they actually got it would have been fine. It takes 5 secs thats all.

yeah but to do that for every resume that comes in they'd have to hire someone just to click and reply to all these people. in the average work day there is a ton of work to get done, and then a million distractions on top of that problem.

thanking everyone for submitting a resume falls to the bottom of the priority list fast.

sounds like its the 'million distractions' that is stopping the curtious click

It's a bit of a niche market so I can't imagine they got that many applications. Anyhow, I could put the time better working on my own project I suppose.

You should have put in an order with your application... that would have gotten a response! :hihi:

Right it is, but when you make a post like that on the largest forum for synth programmers you're probably in for a lot of responses. A large bulk of people on kvr aren't even musicians, they just tweak synths or build new ones.

And that's what separates good companies from the great companies.

No knock on Squids or SR/esoundz - I love their products and customer service. Your comment caught my attention however because I have done a fair amount of recruiting in my life and I have heard that comment before.

Truth is, anybody can reply to a submitted resume, employment inquiry or customer request in a timely and curtious way. But only the great companies do.

Just my .02

Those that can, do. Those that can't, argue about it on k-v-r

whatever he warned everyone ahead of time that if he doesnt respond, better luck next time, or give them more time to consider you.

you know i really don't have to sit here and defend them, i'm not involved in their inner-workings, i'm not much really. but i do know what i've been going through in trying to work in video games and i'm just trying to be a little consoling here that this is the way it goes. would you believe that some video game music/sound directors would prefer an Audio CD over your DVD because they can listen to it in the car ride home? :x
i spent months on my 10 minute DVD and now i'm finding out that they dont have time to watch it. this is life.

Not intending to be rude. It also isn't because we get flooded with applications either. We do get quite a few. Sometimes we are slammed and I either miss them or they didn't make it through (spam filter perhaps or who knows?). Trust me though I DO want to get them! We are still looking for people and I must not have gotten your CV. I'd love to check it out and anyone else's who was kind enough to respond! Sorry about that.

It's been a little crazy around here lately.
