Well, you need those shoes up there, don't you?
It's still almost like late summer here (pretty unusual), so maybe in a few years we just don't need any winter shoes anymore.

Yeah... sadly the global warming hasn't rid us of polar bears yet, and thick shoes are obligatory in keeping those pesky buggers at a distance.

Basically they said they owed a large amount of money to the company (Schlafhorst Electronics) who produces all the Hartmann stuff.
This company sold the cheap version to Musicstore wich obviously led to the destruction of Hartmanns price structure.
Hartmann then sold their stock to Thomann for the same low price.
Some of Hartmanns sales partners even demand compensations from Hartmann.

They write that they had 50 units in stock and that they sold them to Thomann for the same low price because they want to used that money to defend themselfs (take legal actions with a lawyer)
Now, since the Music Store's street price was 150 Euros, how much would they have sold a unit. Event if it was for 120 a unit, that would have been 6000 Euros!!!
Their finances must have been in a really bad shape to do this dumping sale, just to get 6000 Euros in their hands...

And according to themselves €150 was below their own cost price, so they were in fact creating more losses to the company just to get even with someone who was just trying to get their money back while there was time...

Q: Were they even interested in saving the company at that point

Out of buisness or not,they should make it their buisness to make availible at least one downloadable update to their exsisting customers to at the very least fix the memory leak,otherwise their future reputation could (if not already) slide down the wayside.It's called doing the right thing and finishing what you started.Unless there's at least an effort to at least try,I personally could care less what they "fight for".

I think the moral of this story is: Communicate with your customers. i.e forums.

Listen to the problems with a product.

Try to fix them with the help of the people who had bought the item.

Not charge over the odds for a product.

Finish things before releasing them.

I'm sure they would still be around if they had maybe done a few of them.
