hey everyone, this might be a selfish topic but im just in a happy mood and feel like sharing an experience. I just got home from clubbing tonight and it was quete an experience. Tonight was the first night when i heard one of productions played out in a club and it was an amazing sight watching people shake their ass to my music. i have a friend who is a producer dj and he was playing tonight and he dropped one of my songs in his set. Its quite a sight watching girls shake their ass to my music, u know... to the outsider its just another track coming on, they're drunk and just go with the flow. The beats are pumping, the music is flowing, so my track comes on and it just went with the flow of the set. It's just the best feeling to hear my song (that took me about 3 nights to produce) being pumped out of club speakers, and watching a dj work it (u know the bullshit showmanship, tweaking knowbs, pretending to tweak knowbs) and its just awesome... so yeah thats all to this post.. this was a first for me and i'm very happy about it. oh by the way there were about 300-400 in the place so quite a few people... oh and i brought aalong a camera too to capture the action... what a great night! cheers!

well the dj pretending to tweak knobs... i think everyone knows about this phenomena... u have a guy up on stage and he's the dj.. he HAS to look like he's doing something.. he cant just stand still.. so u know.. they pick up the headphones now and again, they twek some knobs on the mixer, they dance alittle bit(but never proper dance) then they check the headphones again, then they play with some more knobs, u know they HAVE to look busy. the hilarity of it comes in when you know your music and KNOWfor a fact that all the songs being played have been mastered to perfection, no need to eq anything on the mixer, etc. u know but they have to look busy... so it was funny watching that dj treatment being done to my song that i've heard contless times at home, and watching a guy tweak knobs on stage during my song, yet hearing NO difference in sound... funny!

Uhhh, I'm pretty sure the venue manager would permanently ban the performer if they did something this stupid.larm wrote:Doesn't all live sets end with the bass boost-knob turned all the way to max
Mind you, the worst sound I've heard in a while was seeing and Miguel Migs and Lisa Shaw in Chicago - I guess he thought he had to compensate for the live vocalist by boosting the midrange of the records he was spinning. It sounded bloody terrible.

Contrats dude! is extremely cool when that happens, hearing your tracks at huge volumes
and it fills your soul when you see ppl dancing with it.

Nice one, one of my acquaintances is a well established dj so I'm going to have to get my arse in gear and get some stuff mixed down
