Try googling for

"drum line" sample
"drum line" soundfont

or some such thing. There's stuff like that out there, I found heaps of it while looking for drum rudiments in plain MIDI format (never did find good examples of those).

Some drum sample sets have rolls "built in" as an articulation. ISTR the new Reason Drum Kit 2.0 Refill contains rolls, drags, and the like... but it's not what you'd call marching band material. :-)

cheers meffy, drumline seems to bring up a lot of multi percussion, kind of like a carnival atmosphere, but perhaps i need to just chug through some stuff till i find more what i'm looking for.

i do have a couple of drum kits with roll and drag type hits but its a tough job to get that feel (percision with human slopiness if that makes any sense) i've had a go and it not sounding like i want it to.

thanks for the pointers, i'll have to sort through some more drumline samples.

steve.
