on the other hand, it'll be just the perfect time, marketing-wise: pre-christmas period... "two gifts for the price of one: make two parties happy, buy our CD"

MATES!!
Hasta la semaña!!
*bump*
I am about to head out of town for a few days -- unavoidable I'm afraid -- So I'll be off line until next Wednesday/Thursday.
Please contact Freezey, Markus, UTM, Kovacs or KoolKeys for any concerns you might have.
Hang Loose & Stay Tight!
Cheers,
Alex

Ok, I'm caught up again, been sick as a dog last couple days, but am feeling better today.
About the mastering, Raven is doing an EXCELLENT job at getting the songs done. He is over half way down in just a matter of days!
The replicator quoted me a turnaround time of 10-12 days. They are standing by and I'm keeping them updated on our progress.
I'm for having an addendum put on the website saying something like, "In light of recent hurricane activity, we would like to note that the Katrina donations will go to a general hurricane fund", or something like that. Of course it is assumed, but it is good to explicitly state it. It would definitly help the project stay up to date.
That's all I've got right now, but we'll have more info soon.

Have a good trip, xander - and hope you're feelin' better freeztar
Keep up the good work Markus!
And good points Scott (rockstar_not), I think it's safe to say we all feel urgency and are doing our best to get it done ASAP. But I don't think cutting short the mastering is the answer.
I think we should be shooting for a finished track list to coincide as closely with Nov 7 as possible, which I believe emdot is working on, and to get that coordinated with Rob (pHz) as close to that time as possible. Actually maybe we should give Rob a shout soon, because I don't see why he can't make some design decisions and then generate all the text as layers to be arranged in order as soon as the track list is done... I will PM him and just give him a heads up on the target date.
FYI Red Cross at the moment has specific funds for the last few hurricanes, and a general National Disaster Relief Fund, I don't believe there is any ability to donate to "Hurricane Relief" but presumably that's where all the National Disaster Relief Fund is going nowadays. And I don't think Habitat targets at all as far as I can tell, just general donation.

Yeah, you're right about habitat for humanity. I thought that Red Cross took a general hurricane fund that would be alotted amongst the various hurricane disasters as they see fit. My mom works for the Red Cross and she said to make sure that we specifically label the donations for hurricanes or that Red Cross might use the money for admin purposes. She says it happens all the time.mn wrote: FYI Red Cross at the moment has specific funds for the last few hurricanes, and a general National Disaster Relief Fund, I don't believe there is any ability to donate to "Hurricane Relief" but presumably that's where all the National Disaster Relief Fund is going nowadays. Just to make sure there are no misunderstandings - Nov 7th the final product, i.e. the premastered CD/CD image is locked and finished. That includes play order and everything. Emdot did forward his ideas as to the playlist to me, it's what I'm basing my own considerations on, it won't be the same play order, though.

It´s a coming and going. Xander goes and I just came back with a horrible flu, from a week in fokking Belgium ! Btw great work, those Relief sites. Also the mastering job. I could hear mine 1 hour after the time limit to yell and complain (I was very busy and the first decent pc I met was at my brother´s place). So mister Master you were lucky
! (Serious, hum hum : thank you !)
I met and old buddy, guitar player and customizer, who showed me his guitar collection. The guitars were mainly as old as he himself : 50 years ! He had the day of his life when he could reach me the bucket just in time, to prevent me from vomiting all over his collector´s items (you would have for less !). Gibson ES´s, Les Paul´s, SG, etc... Fender Strat´s and tele´s, Martins. Well, you know, the usual stuff we all have laying around in the house (of our dreams !). I guess, out of a feeling of compassion he gave a few EMG pick-up´s and a Bill Lawrence (to put on my Mini Strat). Some guys realy have all the luck : his new wife, apart from being gorgeous, can sing like... a bell and plays percussion like Sheila E.
Btw, has xander started his trip to visit us all as he said before ? Somebody knows how he likes his boiled egg at breakfast ?
Cheers, glad to be back !

I couldn't imagine that xander likes his breakfast the same way every time, but you might try one large egg sunny-side up on a good slice of tomato, with a sea-horse and a segment of eel sauteed with garlic, and three sea-monkeys and a coriander leaf on toppoepe wrote:Btw, has xander started his trip to visit us all as he said before ?
