Steve of Hollowsun has offered to make available a small collection of Reaktor ensembles available free, but there's a bit of a snag . . .

Repost from this Samples & Sampler thread:
hollowsun wrote:These were created using Mac Reaktor 3 and they work fine with that (natch!) but to be used with Reaktor 4, it seems that you also need to have the Reaktor 3 dongle inserted as well (?!). This precludes their use in certain versions of Reaktor and/or Komplete (which is a bit bloody stupid if you ask me - I can understand them not working in earlier/older versions but they should work in successive versions without this faff!!).

If you can convert them from R3 to R4/Komplete, I can consider making them available.
Steve
Is there anyone who can help convert these to a later version?

Post

I was speaking to Steve last night and I believe the conversions have already been done and are undergoing testing :)

I'm sure Steve will bring us up to speed soon.

I don't have R4 installed anymore, but I could convert them to R5. If need be, I could always reinstall R4, I guess.

It's things like this that I leave my R3 dongle installed for.

Ok.... here they are:

http://www.hollowsun.com/reaktor

They have been converted to Reaktor 4 and apparently work fine with those who have them (and I emailed them to you last night emdot you numpty!!!) but one 'tester' is saying that the string synth is throwing a wobbly and still wanting an R3 dongle (even though it's fine on everyone else's setup).

If anyone wants to convert them to whatever is the most appropriate version, let me have them.

DISCLAIMER
These were made a while back in R3 (Mac). I upgraded to later R3 versions but not to R4. Recently, I lost the installation in an unpleasant disk crash. I have subsequently re-installed my original R3 but, of course, because these were created/saved in a later version of R3, I can't open them anymore, neither can I re-upgrade to the version of R3 that they were made/saved in. As they are effectively going to waste here (and following some comments by emdot elsewhere), I have decided to make them available. However.....

I cannot enter into any form of tech support or problem solving simply because I can't (and don't have the time). If they work for you, great - enjoy. Otherwise... sorry!!!!

Can I have your conversions please?

Steve, there is no need for R5 conversions as R5 reads R4 ensembles without any trouble.

Yep, I'm a R5 newb. Couldn't convert if I had to.

How about we get some patches made up and made available ?

I'll have a play around myself soon.

IC. I guess you're right - I'll leave it as is then if they are loading ok.

I assume that they have the same panel colours, layout, etc., as shown at the site (and I assume they all sound ok and work!).

Fine - do what you will with patches... when you've done some more, send the ensembles back to me and I'll host the updated versions.

Unless I get myself a copy of R5, I guess I am gonna have to let you guys run with this unaided. All I ask is don't change the actual synth structures, panel layout, control ranges, etc..

just a quick thank you for steve and hollowsun.

another R5 newby here. i downloaded the ens.'s and they sound great. 3 of them opened in R5, but one of them gave me an error message relating to R3 and R4 and wouldn't open.

i'm not at that computer right now, so i forget which one, but like i said, the three that work are great.

Yah, my bad. :dog: I don't always check me email like I should.

I've tried Synphony and Axxident in R4 and they work fine in Cubase SX3. Both are featured in a song I'll be releasing in the next few days.
