BONES, yup I considered doing the same but since I just realized I can control Reason automation using the FL Midi out I changed my mind
I'll probably be spending some time today looking for Reason MIDI Out presets, and if i don't find any, make them myself.

Listen moron, there is right and there is wrong. That's all, end of story.peejunk wrote:After going through first 10 or so pages of thread my only conclusion is: Bones, you're a shortsighted, closeminded asshole in much the same way the OP is. I'm sure you see yourself as the righteous defender of the underdog, but actually, you're much the same thing as the MPC clergy in hip-hop communities etc.
You appear to sincerely beleive that everyone NEEDS YOUR working habbits and that they would suit everyone, in other words -- that your's is the only right way. Does this last bit remind you of something? I'm pretty sure at least once in life you were at the other side of that kind of stick.
A lot of people had shown, with very decent arguments, how their choice is an educated one, and what specifically they dislike with your object of adoration. Also, being that devoted to a piece of software is kinda disturbing.
And it has precious little to do about ORION vs FL or any other damned thing. Its much more generic than that; its about people's wrong-minded attitude to audio devices. The dismissal of quality. The fact that someone feels they can display a picture of an EQ in order to prove it's worth. Beyond some very basic things [e.g. most people do seem to understand that there are good reverbs and bad ones] there seems to be so little work or thought or effort put into gauging the quality of anything. They just add up the number of knobs/sliders and decide whether its any good or not, 3xOsc being a good example. Several people have jumped on to say how many envelopes and LFO it has but no-one's mentioned, except me, that it actually does have a good sound.
What it boils down to, I think, is that most folk around here make choices based on pure hedonism rather than on picking the tool that will ultimately produce the best result. They choose what they think will be the most enjoyable which is a perfectly legitimate, though completely unprofessional, choice. Yet try to suggest that these people are somehow less than truly professional and they scream like babies.
If my ranting has forced you to think, to try to justify your choices, and that has made you feel uncomfortable, good. I've actually learned quite a bit from this thread. Most recently, that peejunk is a fool.

i beg to disagree, it's a very intersting thread. we learned a lot.Chase wrote:worst thread ever
we learned that BONES has a real sense of humour (not very apparent but more refined than the usual poopy jokes)
we have been puzzled by Dave's violent hate against Reason and Reason users.
we learned to know Cyrogenic as a talentless pompous git
arke learned he can keep the best soft studio in action while using Reason (if he want to use Reason, finally why not?)
etc.

I agree, this was a very educational thread, a very funny thread, and a very violent thread at the same time. I love it!

MusicX, thats a blast from the past, horrible app that was. I used OctaMed Pro for years with Audimaster, fun fun funoriginal flipper wrote:HI
The only reason I ditched my Amiga/MusicX combo was midi timing - I would have probably kept using it through to the late ninties/early millenium otherwise.
Tried Bars and Pipes too, bloody terrible

Yes yes of course, if its about Reason lets ask the one person in this thread that has probably never used it simply because of predispositionKriminal wrote:no you cantbluedad wrote:Dave what do you mean?Kriminal wrote:FFS, any host that wont allow you to play a chord, has got to be shite, no?

OF COURSE you can play chords, as you can with anything that has more than 3 polyphony!

no, all generators are monophonic, you have to open multiple instances if you want to play chords.Wopelka wrote:do you mean you can't do that

Now, dear readers of this thread, who are you going to believe on this issue - a Reason hater (him) or a Reason user (me)?
If you mean chords as in playing a C and a E and a G then yes, if you mean that you play a C and Reason plays a C E G then my answer is
(1) It's possible
(2) Its not easy
(3) Why the hell would you ever want to?

Subtractor and Maelstrom are both Polyphonic, as are the samplers, as is the drum machine, as is the loop player, as is ... wait, instead of making my life hard listing them all I'll just say that they're all polyphonic.
