Right now we are recovering from a major hurricane with a lot of damage and difficulties all around us. So, I am lucky I even have power and the internet to answer this at all. I don't like people to have a false impression of us. We care, we appreciate and even though what you've said, Tunes, may be true about business in general we like to think we are not so typical and are much more personal and friendly. So, never intending to be rude. Sometimes it is effective in business to be persistent just a little bit though. It can work when done right. Sometimes timing is important. Just speaking in general.

deep down i knew that you wouldnt do this to the poor guy. but on top of the hurricane i know that you guys have been really busy lately that's all i can really say.

Ok Squids you have my apologies, I didn't realise until someone told me about the hurricane. I hope you get back on your feet without having been too much damage to your company.

Reading back through the topic now, like you say maybe it didn't get through the spam filter. I was just a bit annoyed as I had sent 3 emails, 1 being the application and the other 2 asking if you had actually seen it.

I wanted to know if I should write it out again if maybe you hadn't recieved it. So when I had no responce or confirmation of any of the 3 emails it just got my goat a bit.

Maybe it would be better to host a few of the presets to the Kontakt 2 library I'm doing. And post the links here. I'm sure you'll be interested after hearing them.

All the best

When pursuing a possible job lead, especially one I'm particularly hot for, I find it hard sometimes to distinguish between the fine line of being persistent and slightly creepy. Often times I say to myself, "well, a lack of any response at all must mean not interested." But my ego might get the better of me and refuse to take no for an answer. That's when I turn into the guy from Swingers who keeps leaving message after message on an answering machine, each one landing me further and further away from having any chance at all.

I wish you luck in your pursuits.

P.S. Squids, you didn't happen to listen to that CD I sent you back in late spring did you?

yeah so don't be so damn quick to judge next time; especially on a public forum.

Sam, are you sending it to dave@sonicreality.com ? I haven't gotten any of your emails. Maybe put "sound designer" in the subject. Resend it please so I can have a look. Anyone else who hasn't received a response should do the same just in case. I try to respond to everything.

Hello Nicky? Hi. The only reason I am calling is because I knew you were still at the Dresden and I just wanted to give you my number. It's...

Yeah, I know what you mean. But, there is a balance there. Checking in and asking for a confirmation is good to do I think because sometimes people get overwhelmingly busy. If someone has the energy to be persistent then that can be good. Of course, it doesn't usually help to be aggressive though. I am speaking about applying anywhere, not specifically in this case. Although, I do get busy and sometimes can't stay on top of everything... for example, that CD you sent. Sometimes I don't connect who is who with nick names on KVR and real names. But, which CD? Now I forget but I do like to be reminded. It doesn't bother me.

That scene makes me cringe...

I'm the fella from NJ (formerly), we spoke on the phone and I sent you a CD that contained a SF2 bank of orchestral stuff as well as a sample tune. I can't remember now, was it an excerpt from La Boheme maybe?

Anyway, I've relocated recently and started a new job which I like, I was asking not so much with the hopes for employment, but because I would value your feedback. Our last communication you said you recieved the CD but hadn't had a chance to hear it yet, and no way to play back SF2's.

Sorry, didn't mean to take the focus away from Spaceman.

No, please take the focus away from me... I'm feeling bad enough as it is about my rant :(

Ok, then I do remember of course. I don't use SF at all so it isn't something immediate that I can do especially being back-logged on stuff. However, I would like to check it out and when I do I would be glad to give you feedback.

Bit of advice (admittedly, coming from someone who has only applied to one or two jobs so far): if you really want a job, being negative or accusational of your prospective employer in any way is definitely not going to help you. If you really can't bear the perceived rudeness, then you're going to have to decide whether you want that job enough to suffer through it.

(not that you've lost your chances with SR, I wouldn't know, maybe being impatient and easily offended is what they're looking for - perhaps it's just indicative of tenaciousness, integrity, and a strong sense of fairness?)

That's cool, I figured you might have had a chance to listen to that one wav file I included of La Boheme, but it sounds like that ship has sailed long ago.

Good luck with your stuff.
