Generally, you have to have a PostScript printer driver to do 2-up printing, although some PCL printer drivers are starting to support it.

For the Windows users, Jump over to http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/ and grab a copy of PDFCreator (version 0.8 seems pretty stable). This will add a PDFCreator "printer" to your computer, and it will let you generate a new PDF document of the book with 2-up formatting that you can then print to your real printer.

I just tested it with Acrobat Reader 7 and it worked flawlessly.

Sorry for being slightly off-topic, but it sounds like the solution to Ezy's problem.
Thanks, I will try that. You know I've bought that book and never read it 'caus I can't read more than a paragraph or two on a computer monitor without getting headache, and the format is unsuitable for printing on paper. I hope what you suggested works.
It definetly works. I have a PDF copy that is perfectly 2-up'ed. With respect to the author, I won't post it here, but if you need help creating your own copy, I'll be glad to help you out with any questions.

Well, it only does 2 pages side by side here (same as my printer driver). If push come to shove, I'll print it like that...
Thanks.

Excellent book. I'm a beginner and this is exactly what I've been looking for, so I bought it (a mere $10!). I'm only about 25 pages in so far (taking my time reading and fiddling) and I already feel that my knowledge of synths has grown considerably.

This is how I learn, by reading AND experimenting. I've always been frustrated by advice that says to only experiment without knowing what something does. Or frustrated by articles that were too advanced for me. I like to know the purpose, then apply/experiment.

If I had one gripe, it's that the rhino vst requires registration to load presets/banks...so far the vanguard and z3ta+ do not and I hope the other synths do not as well. I'm not saying the rhino isn't worth purchasing, I'm just broke :) Also, I think alot of users that will benefit from this are just starting out and aren't ready to drop $100-200 just quite yet.

The landscape factor doesn't bother me, I just print in landscape mode, I don't understand the fuss.

btw, excellent angle on the marketing (for lack of better word). I would've never purchased the book without seeing it first.

Simon gets all the credit for this.

He also writes the Manytone Product manuals and has lent a big hand with our website lately, but this Book is all thanks to him so he should get full credit.
And on that note... thanks to him again for all else he does for us at Manytone :-)

There will be at least two refills for "How to make a noise". I had hoped to get the first one out by now, but I have got rather behind for which I apologise profusely. At the moment I would expect the first refill this year and the second in the early part of next year.

I don't use any of the focus VSTs, but so far it seems quite useful nonetheless. Just have to translate the instructions to my JD800(and eventually my other synths)

Wow. First post I look at (semi-randomly) when I register just happens to be exactly what I'm looking for. Might take some of the guesswork out of what I've been doing (or trying to) for the last 6 months.

Nice.
