Sorting Waves plugins?

I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to sort the Waves plugins into different folders under Cubase SX on PC. As it is right now, the plugins are all in the same folder, which seems rather lame. Strictly on-ropic answers only - I don't have Waves, but I'm asking anyway...

Latest SX 3.1 sorts them automatically into Mono, Stereo, and M/S which is very nice.

Ok... Would be even nicer if they could be sorted manually, but what the...

For those who would like to classify all their plug-ins by type (dynamic, modulation, reverbs...) it can be problematic.

Simply because 50+ plugins in one folder is a mess - much easier if they're sorted like n-... says...

Well, I've trid it and from my experience it is much better not to sort them by type but rather have them sorted by developers name. Also, do you really use all 50 of them? You could deactivate some you don't need. Off course, Wavelab handles it beautifuly and that'd be great in Cubase but unfortunately those apps are developed by different teams.

I don't use Wavelab but there's a plug-in manager in Cubase where you can easily deactivate any plugs. Do you mean that there's a function in Wavelab to classify them like in Sound Forge?
I personnaly prefer to classify my VST's by type. If I need a reverb, I don't have to bother remembering who did what, I just give a look in my reverbs menu... But that's just my preference.

Don't know about Sound Forge but in Wavelab you can sort plugs any way you please. I don't have problem remembering developers and they're always in front of you so you actually don't have to remember so it works great; in fact, I have problem remembering all plug-in names (those are often too difficult. Also, I run into a problem with sorting by type - some plugs are multiFX/multifunctional or whatever you may call it - that's where it get's real messy for me. And all it takes is sometimes just a couple of drugndrops in windows explorer.

VST's can be sorted by making a folder structure in the VST folder. DX plugins like Waves behave differently. Rearranging the folder structure in the VST folder can muck things up a bit as far as uninstalling and installing updates, but not so much if you know what's going on. Not recommended unless you know what you're doing.
