The reason for it might be that Jorgen doesn't want to let his oldest customers out in the rain ( - eXt was always planned to be a Massiva replacement.
Oh yeah, I was a Massiva user and it was a great little sequencer. I don't have a beef with the current sequencer in eXT, it's just that some of the Components (which make eXT different than all other apps and start to place it into being an 'instrument') are still not polished.
But I do realize Jorgen is doing alot to keep everyone happy.

I've found my own personal medium of using XT in Orion, which lately, the XT part has been mainly central. The last couple of projects I've been working with don't even have any native synths in it. I use Kontakt and Reaktor a lot, but I do enjoy the wasp, sampler and Ultran now and then.
Anyway I've been recording midi and handling audio in XT but it all goes to the mixer where I use a lot of native fx so it's a perfect 50/50 for me.
I never really bothered to handle audio files in the Orion playlist but handled audio in the sampler and drumrack (which is one native thing I will bring up often)
Handling audio files in XT is much better, faster and easier thanks to the browser. It's quick and easy to convert my midi into audio and automatically have in as a new audio track without having to browse for it and bring it in. Adn when I DO actual audio recording I'll prbably find more stability recording with xt still in orion.
So with XTs main sequencing and audio abilities coupled with Orions mixer and fx gives me confidence and inspiration in a host for when I want to work on something and get it finished. I could care less if you think my music sucks cuz I make it for me.

I have become less disappointed in how Rish handles updates since I realized he was making it for himself not too long after I bought it and the updates came.
It is fortunate he added PDC (not really THAT much of a big deal to me but there are a few specific plugs that benefit from it) and the IRP (YES) and the Dynamics Shaper (um it shapes transients, via some mysterious envelopes and compression settings)
and some do render older fx more likely to be unuseable (but thats relative)
But as long as it has what it has now I found my medium for awhile (somehow I predict a few years from now I'll be using Steinberg or PT more often)

I have heard stuff I thought sounded cool from reason it just seemed more techno/beat based which reason seems to be tailored for anyway.
I've heard a lot more variety from FL and I don't think it's a "toy" anymore. I don't dig it but I don't disrespect it just cuz I personally found it bloated and cluttered which made it overwhelming and since I already had what I needed in O I didn't see why I needed to spend much time learning it.

I've become more into the old fashion linear way of writing (and can't wait to get my interface to do audio recording so I can add guitar and vocals to it)
and that's what I love about xt sequencer. Isn't Jorgen mainly programming what his users want? That's why I think so much focus on the seq.

But yea I got so bored yesterday I chimed in this dick waving event (which is a first considering there's no women around) I don't think my low post count (just how quick is someone going to make a sperm reference?)
along with my length of time here (and theres your penis reference) reflects how much of a loser I am in fact I think it might state the opposite, er, I mean I spend my time being productive. You know the saying about arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics....I guess I shouldn't have said anything I'm no fun, am I?

When using eXT as a VST an interesting idea would be a way, and maybe one already exists, to map each track in the Mixer component to a Mixer track in the host. Kind of a multi-timbral 'out'?

yeah, I can see your point and therefor I'd never complain about Jorgen putting work in the other components instead of working on the sequencer even if I rarely (if at all) will use them myself. :)

yup, it's done, you can set however many tracks you want in the xt.ini file. I use a 16 track template.
Even without saving in xt in orion it still saves the settings whenever I save in O (though it doesn't remember the audio files until I load the xt project in O, thus still saving the xt version as well. KnowhutImean?

They work really well together,

Someone did mention tempo automation screws up the grid placement in xt but if that would be an xt issue which is probably solveable if theres a request, but it's not really an issue for me atm.

bullshit, and the sampler will only play 8 bit files, what a fcukin joke
The proppelerheads know what they're doing, and if all of their synths were really mono and if their sampler was only playing 8bit audio, I'd laugh hard at them. But I'd rather laugh at you.
cheers Gol, but im pissing myself now laughing at you and your crap toy seq, i think you should stick to porn apps, suits you better you sad fat twat

I would be happy to see Orion 7 have NO new features, NO new generators, NO new effects (which I'm sure would please a certain ORION user no end...) if it could be made to run reliably on a freshly installed machine on which NO OTHER application has stability issues.

Honestly, I've seen more stability at a taxi rank queue at 3am than I've seen whilst using ORION...
funny that, cos my machine is full of crap and OP never crashes here...why would that be?
