Well, good news. I have indeed found someone with a true sp1200, and is willing tod o an impulse. Now, we gotta figure out how to have the impulse triggered everytime a drum pad is hit! But, it will be as close as you can get to the real sound.
"You are going to let the fear of poverty govern your life and your reward will be that you will eat, but you will not live."

Well, we WILL have an impulse from the sp1200 itself, the output. So, there we have it.
"You are going to let the fear of poverty govern your life and your reward will be that you will eat, but you will not live."

I wanted to update you all on the fact that we have the impulse and it will be implemented into the drum machine. So this is as close to the real sound as you can get!

I think the SP1200 have different sounding outputs. Am I right?
If yes, do you have the Impulses from all outputs?

Well, yes it has about 8 different outputs. Only the master output will be prodvided, if we put all 8 inputs impulses in your computer would be brought to its knees. Plus a few of the channels that the filters are on are non-linear (?), or somethng to that effect, and thus we couldn't get a proper impulse from it anyways. 8 different sound outputs on a soft synth would not only be too much for the pc to handle (in this case), but it will be illogical to do so.

Sound comparisons between the real machine itself and the emulation coming very very soon.

Here is a sound comparison (you have to get the files from yousend it). The first will be of a loop ran through the original, the second will be of the emulation.
Original.

Emulation.

There is noticable loss of sound in the high end resulting in a slightly more muffled sound, but it is as close as can be nonetheless.
Enjoy!

Not really impressed by the that demo. I know your doing it for free though and its better than nothing.
I really wish though someone could put the time into actually nailing the sp sound in a vst and if it had some controls you could change even better. I would be willing to pay for it no doubt.
