Ya know, it's really sad to see how pathetic some people can be. This really gets me. You don't know me. You don't know the others that are involved. Go raise your own money if you wish. But don't get the impression that you know our hearts. You don't know crap about anything.
Apparently, you've never raised money for a CD project like this. You've never organized 40 artists and their songs, mastered, designed, updated websites, advertised, donated server space, mastered 40 songs, worked out deals with replicators, etc. Go do it yourself if you wish.
But if you want to be a self-righteous, impatient, ungrateful idiot, then do so elsewhere. Your posts here are purely slanderish, for if you truly felt this project was a waste, you would just leave it alone and leave us alone, all while doing what you feel is right. But no, you make it a point to come here and belittle so much time, effort, money, and talent. And all the while, making yourself feel like you really accomplished something. Get a life and stop wasting our time having to read your crap. Nobody cares.
Pardon me if I vent. This crap makes me sick.
Oh, and SSL. You aren't worthy to live up to that name. I'm a graduate of SAE, and people like you only WISH to be associated with such an awesome product. Tom Misner wouldn't give you the time of day. Stop dreaming.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Wow, avoid looking at the thread for a weekend and see what you find.
I love it when people accuse us of using this project for self promotion. I suppose we should all just donate tracks anonymously. I mean, I'm not getting any money from this project, God forbid someone might order the CD and like my music enough to go to my web site and download all my other music for free
In case anyone really can't figure it out for themselves, the idea goes like this: individually the artists here can each donate only a finite amount of money to charity. But we all have talents in music, so we donate our songs to a project that will raise far more money than we could all collectively contribute. If that's a bad thing, then I guess we'll all go to hell when we die.
I suppose large corporations shouldn't give any money to charity either, since they will only use it for self-promotion. And governments should refrain from helping other countries, too, because they'll just use it as a publicity stunt to make themselves look good.
[very heavy sarcasm] I've seen the light. No more for me. I'm going to stop contributing my songs to raise money for good causes and start charging for downloads of my songs. You people are all evil, selfish bastards.[/very heavy sarcasm]

Keith,
I assume the name of the song goes into the box at the bottom of the NewDupRights.rtf form?
