Chronicles of Frank Scoops,
The story of one mans journey and life in the world of the macabre at KVR monsterfest. (Continued)

slartibartfast – Sweet Screams
Log: TimeDate: 8735267
I had the oddest dream last night. I was a kid back on my old granpappys farm. Arnold the giant pig came around grunting and oinking. As we were relaxing in a nice pool of slop, my alarm went off

nikp2000 – terror cell
Log: TimeDate: 8653423a
Maintenance called again. They wanted to compliment me on the choice I made on the leg placement machine. Everything was running just fine.

Caco – Frikenhedron.
Log: TimeDate: 7823006
Quangi from the personnel department stopped by today. He let me know that I was volunteered for another tour of duty. It really pissed me off when he chuckled on his way out the door.

Woj – Spooky Groovy
Log: Time Date: 635829a
Went to the gym to work out today. Let’s see, need some tunes. Oh, here we go, Spooky Groovy. Nice piece to warm up to

Hovmod – Groveyard
Log: TimeDate: 635829aa
(Still at the gym working out) Ok, need something to get the blood flowing. I wasn’t ready for the monsters in the spectravision though. They chased me all the way to 3rd and Vine.

Karkatau – Une Marseillaise d’ enfer.
Log: TimeDate: 6019827
Maintenance, more maintenance! This one was completely out of order.

Markleford – The Denied.
Log: TimeDate: 10000000
Damn!!!! Started my next tour of duty today. I applied for an appeal, but was denied.

Unfocused – FrankenSam Time
Log: TimeDate: 99992675
Went to the beach today to investigate the intruding slime. It was coming up off the ocean floor. There was no end in sight. Don’t know what we’re going to do.
I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

Short and spooky. Loved the slowed down voice sounds, but the introductory footsteps didn't add much to the track overall.
Thanks for the review.:)
What I tried to do with the footsteps was create a bit of symmetry to the piece. Imagine if you will, the ramping up to a tension point, a tension point, a resolution to the tension, and a close. I used the footsteps to approach and exit the tension.

Hovmod -- Grooveyard: It's a monster mash! Like the wall of sound approach, and the long climb up to the ending. Good piece!

Krakatau -- Marseillaise_d'Enfer: All you need is . . . something scary. Nice mashup of sounds, composition and all that but there's not much spooky here. Fix the link, too. There's a space before the mp3 that's killing it.

Markleford -- The Denied: Ominous ambience. The fog is coming towards me. It's rolling off the hill. Watch out; it's dense. Nice little spookster moment. Good work!

Unfocused -- FrankenS(am)Time: Another nice darkly ambient piece. This is in something like Doom 3 when you're creeping down a dark hallway expecting a monster to jump out at you . . . when it does, you're still scared. Nice moody tune!

This is a very cleverly constructed track, although not particularly spooky and creepy. Was this constructed only from samples from previous KVR competition entries, as indicated in the rules?
Sorry, my bad, i didn't pay enough attention i' m afraid... thanks for the positive comments anyway

HEARE YE HEARE YE OFFICIALE NOTICEE

Note that I included no time zone for the submissions deadline in the rules posting. Essentially this means that your entry needs to be in before I wake up tomorrow morning and close the thread, whereupon voting begins.

ALSOE IMPORTANTE

pHz has gone missing. pHz was to design and provide the t-shirts for the top three winners. Does anyone know the whereabouts of pHz? Not that the lack of prize is important: at this point I'd just like to know he's okay!

At any rate, we do have another prize to be announced with the voting thread. Stay tuned.

Ah, well, that makes me feel better. At least it's technical issues not personal.

Aha. Who knew it would have been as easy as using the forum search and typing "where's pHz"?

We'll see if this means I'm on the spot for making t-shirts! ;)

For the voting, do we have to vote in order or does each vote have an equal rating?
