Yeah, Metallurgy is really good. Applying it to pads and drums especially gives some great effects.

It's a sick, sick, sick, plugin ... and it's also quite versatile. It can make some lovely lush sounds too, in addition to the sickness part ... :hihi:

I use Meatllurgy frequently in my sound design work. It's unique and high-quality sound will make it a must-have. Put it in your effects budget now.

I followed here from another thread. the plug really looks exciting, nice comments. Cool.

that GUI is quite cool, good to see something different but still functional

i'm also very intrigued by this plugin, what's the ETA? You've had some good feedback so far from reading the replies in this thread 8)

It's SynthEdit, so how's the CPU usage?

im pushing for the very end of this month, but it might end up being early december because i've lost several weeks due to a move and a very busy time at my day job. however, metallurgy is essentially done and the sound designers are doing great work, so i might still make it before the end of the month. it just depends on if the rest of my life eases up a bit and lets me finish up the last few tasks i've got left to complete.

it can get cpu hungry. i've got an AMD 1.6 ghz and with everything on and everything modulating, metallurgy uses up around 30%. however, the fewer parts you have running, and the less you have modulating, the less cpu it uses. also, the filters use up much more cpu than the other sections. so if you are just using, for example, a pitched metal sequence, some filth, and delay, the cpu hit will be considerably less nasty.

metallurgy is going to be released mighty soon now, so i thought i'd start posting some mp3's to give you an idea of what it can sound like. :)

this first demo consists of a drum track, a percussion track, and a bassline. the first time through is dry, the second time has an instance of metallurgy on each part.

metallurgy groove demo 1

i'll post more demos, showing off different stuff, in the coming days.

Good job, Ugo. It gets better all the time.

thanks :)

here's another one. this is a just a drum groove with a single instance of metallurgy...first dry, then wet.
