I have Sonic Synth 1 with most all of the Sampletank specific Sonic Reality add on modules. I have been working happily with Sonar, Tracktion, Project 5 v1 and v2, and Ableton Live v4 for six months on a nice new AMD based DAW.
However, when I upgraded to Live 5, everything started going downhill. Earlier version of Live 5 would crash when Sonic Synth was loaded (ST2 engine).
Now that Version 5.0.2 of Live is out, Sonic Synth running under ST2 full 2.0.8.1 or 2.0.9 will not crash "as soon", but the tracks feeding sampletank get confused after a while, then the track timers will stop responding, and output from Sampletank is muted (no midi data shows up in the GUI either).
All my other hosts are working with ST. Conversely, all my other VSTi's work with Ableton Live 5, including Pentagon, eJ, Tau Pro, Emulator X, ZR3, Mr. Tramp, etc.
I have submitted three bug reports to Ableton, and also contacted IK. IK suggested retrograding to ST 2.0.8.1 but that did not help.
Has anyone else experienced problems with ST/SS and Ableton Live 5? Perhaps an earlier version is working for you?
For what it's worth, My audio caard is an 1820m with latest drivers, which has been stable on my system for all other purposes.
Thanks!

I have Live 5 but haven't been using it. Otherwise I could tell you myself. However, I suggest that you contact both IK support and Abelton support directly for some troubleshooting. If anyone else has the same set up feel free to try it out and see what results you get.
SampleTank 2.1 is going to be available for download this week I believe so you can also try that.

I run into this issue constantly with ST2- very annoying. This issue only started with Live 5.0 - I've contacted both ableton and IK, but they haven't made any progress. It seems to happen more often when I have a bunch of VSTs running. Let me know if you find a solution. . . .
