David Bowie, especially in his work with Brian Eno, does not get enough credit for bringing electronic music in service of great songs.

Amen to that. Some of my absolute favorite electronic songs are on Low.

Same here. Low to me is far more interesting than Heroes.

I listen to a ton of Japanese animation soundtracks, and many of them have excellent synth works. Some of the Japanese animated features from the 70's have soundtracks that rivaled many of the synth classics in the west, but it's a shame that only fans of Japanese animation knows about them.

On the Hubbard note, props are most certainly required for our very own Chris Huelsbeck. Saw a one man band covering some of his Turrican music with a drum kit and modular synth the other day. I danced like a loon.

Giorgio Moroder is also worth mentioning. Chase was one of the greatest songs ever written on a Moog.
