The improved Stretch engine is pretty cool. Try loading up the "Altos Uh p" vocal pad, run it through Stretch, then drop the Harmonics knob down to around -15. The sound gets kinda wobbly like a Tron.

i'm getting lots of stuck notes when using it in standalone mode. the only way to get them to unstick is if i load a different patch.
i'll try it as an AU in logic tomorrow, i hope the cpu usage has gone down. i'll just turn off some of the effects, i guess, that will help. i'm interested in the new samples too, the current ones are lacking imo.

Oh... wow...
I honestly was pessimistic about this, but IK actually fixed it so that it renders automation correctly!
now I can do wah guitar stuff!
Nice update
Stretch is now usable for undersampled instruments (and also in some cases for glissandos and such) and the Range stuff is always nice to have.

whack some -15 harmonics and AM modulation to some of the vox phrases and you get that wobbly dalek sound, heh.
On other sounds, using low harmonics can give the sound like it's going through a cab. On others, even just placing it Stretch mode without modifying the controls gives it a weird bitcrusher effect - try playing D3 on the "003 Dynamic Martin 12" while in Stretch.
Regardless of the few glitches still present, i'm still having a wail of a time - especially trying out the leslie effects you can pull off with the stretch engine.

Couple of things real quick. One is that of course you can't save a preset with 2.1 and it be backwards compatible with 2.0 so I wouldn't experiment with that! There will also not be some backwards compatible update to the OLD version with some kind of warning...?????? Pricer!
But, I knew you'd like the new Stretch (good to see you btw). If you guys want to have some fun, I'd also check out the new PSTS and mess around withe GRAIN control. This has become a serious sound design tool on top of it being known for a workstation with built-in fx. For those looking for unique and interesting performance or twisted sounds ST2.1 is a must-have in my opinion. There's so much you can do with it that is useful and you can't really do on anything else (not with the same results).
Oh, the key extra parameter for the new Stretch is the Harmonic Preservation knob. For the organ leslie thing sometimes you have to play around with that one to get it just right. Have fun!

Anyone tried their old preset effects yet? Also having issues seeing Combi presets.
But I like the stand alone feature and can't wait to try the other new features.

Ok, ST2Effects are now labeled effects, Sampletank 2 Presets are now labeled presets, ST2Image is now Images, etc. So I can now see my effects and my Sampletank presets, the next challenge seems to be getting the effects and presets to load correctly.

This is very impressive from the little I can understand.(LFOs - how do I use these?) The standalone is a knockout. I am wodnering about combis and presets though.

I'd not recommend moving your combis and effects presets into the directories under the new install. I did and none of the combis work and the effects, some worked, some didn't. But the real tale of woe was when I exited Sonar it crashed. Which normally wouldn't be a problem but it left the process running(yeah, after the crash) and task manager couldn't kill it. I had to reboot. I deleted all my effects and combis after that. I don't need that kind of headache.

I downloaded the update but haven't installed it yet. I just got up and checked the ikstore before checking KVR. When SONAR crashes here (rarely) my MIDI ports are left open. MY LPT I/F has a power switch so that's not a problem but I have a USB I/F and a USB control surface and sometimes it takes a while to stop them. Eventually the SONAR process will end. It has taken quite a while.
