The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Sounds like Cubase might be the thing you're after ;)
I still use it for mixdowns, large audio files, and for mastering as the mixer/metering in FL 5 is pretty lame. Orion's mixer is a bit nicer in my opinion, I'll give you that. But SX's is way better. :D

I don't really understand why users of Orion still believe that Orion is in the same league as FL and is somehow competitive with FL. Those times are long gone. They may have started out as competitors, but FL has long since moved into a different level altogether.

Orion has as much relevance as Muzys nowadays. It's pretty much gone and forgotten. This is reflected in sales volume, in amount of press, amount of buzz and so on and so forth.

Let users of Orion and Podium slug it out.

Even XT came out of nowhere and went way ahead of Orion or relevancy scale.

It's really between Reason/Project5/FL/Live/XT. Orion doesn't really belong in that list. It's in the same list where Storm and Podium is...

Thank you Penis Arcade for making this another "storm, reason, fl, orion" type thread - lets hope for 50 pages! These threads are SOO fun! :hihi:

BONES, since I started last time, you start this time. Let the Orion vs. FL vs. Reason battle begin!

Up, Up, Left, Down, A, B --- Phase Offset Modulation Chop Attack!
A, A, B, Up, Down, Up, Down --- Waspy Filter Kick of Doom Attack!
Left, Right, Left, B, Down, A --- Triple Oscillating Fist of Micro Dimensionality Attack!

That list sucks. Project5? I don't know anyone who uses that. energyxt users only have a strong presence on KVR.

Feature/number of users wise, it should be: Cubase SX, Logic, FL Studio, Sonar, Protools, and Live.

And of the above, guess who gets shit on the most?

Reason can join the list when it gets audio recording and VST support.

This oughtta get some blood boiling... :D

Post

I think the list should be Cubase SX, Sonar, FL Studio, Reason, Live. ProTools shouldnt go on the list because almost nobody here has it (we're all poor :)). eXT will probably at some point belong on that list as well. Logic not because ... they killed it :). Reason does belong on the list. Audio recording would be nice but isnt essential, and VST support simply isn't needed.
