FL does not support sustain pedal! For eg. i throw the grand piano vst into fl, plug my midi keyboeard with sustain pedal , and it doesn't work, no reaction in FL, just blinks led in fl which shows that midi signal is given
if i open the grand piano standalone, pelad works very well! wats is the problem!? maybe anybody knows solution!

of course there's a way to use a sustain pedal..but I use fruity so seldom I can't name the procedure..it's not difficult but someone will chime in soon, I'm sure with the correct solution.
but no worry, it's no bug.

I believe you just assign the sustain pedal CC to either the decay or sustain envelope of yer softsynth.

while that may work, that's not what I'm thinking about.Stupid American Pig wrote:I believe you just assign the sustain pedal CC to either the decay or sustain envelope of yer softsynth.
I remember setting up some fruity thing, and then pressing my sustain pedal for it to recognize..
dammit, gotta take the kids to school now or I'd investigate further.

No worries, this is a feature included in FL Studio 6, which should be released pretty soon. Just wait for your free upgrade and you're sorted

Probably "Link to Controller". That's fruity's generic "hook a midi controller to a VSTI parameter" interface.bluedad wrote: while that may work, that's not what I'm thinking about.

If the VSTI requires a MIDI CC to automate, rather than a VSTI parameter, you put a MIDI OUT controller in front of the VSTI instead.

go to looptalk, there is a work around, but I can't remember it...but to clear one thing up....this is not a bug, it is and has been an oversight imo...

This is probably THE most frequently asked question about FL. For example, for solutions/workarounds take a look at:

BTW the thread above showed up (among others) by searching "fl sustain pedal" on this very forum...

this became big problem
here is what you need to do
1. Load your VSTi
2. Load a MIDI OUT generator.
3. Set both of them to the same port
4. Right click one of the knobs on the midi out and click "configure"
5. Set it to recieve CC 64 and click ok.
6. Right click the same knob and click "link to controller" and when the lil window pops up, just press your Sustain pedal.

5. Set it to recieve CC 64 and click ok.
Or just press the pedal, it will auto assign it and close the dialog.
