Yes, you need to hold the mouse click down and then select as opposed to clicking and then clicking a second time which is maybe what you're used to.

Can confirm that here as well.
If it is a bug, it's a very strange one to miss during testing.

Caleb
It's not a bug. It just works a little differently for some reason. Try what I just said above.

Vocalpoint Studios wrote:Jeez, judging by the early commentary here - should I be worried about letting 2.1 into my workflow? Stuck notes...import issues and biggest of all - seriously - no backwards compatibility with 2.0x?

Sounds like if I wanna use 2.1 at all...do I have to start over from scratch on existing projects? Or manually pick through them to ensure proper playback?

Squids? Any comments?
Stuck notes? Haven't had a one. That can be people's specific system issues (a lot of elements in a system interacting and needs to be troubleshot to find out why). There are no import issues I am aware of. Backwards compatibility should not be a problem for new projects/songs. It is backwards compatible with the old sound set of course. It's just that patches you make with this version cannot be read on the old version (but why would you want to?) and the only thing is, your previous songs won't automatically load the sounds into ST2.1 like they would in ST2.0. So, the simple solution if you have a lot of songs you might still want to call up is to just keep your ST2.0 on there. You don't have to use it except when needed. Then you can make your way over to the new format. I know that's not ideal but it has a lot of new features and eventually we'll all have made our way over to the new one.

For as many features as you have now, the number ".1" can be deceiving. It is a significant upgrade and major changes have been made to the engine. The best part of all is that it is FREE (for all registered ST2 full users)! So, go get it! ;)

Squids,

Thanks for the update. I will get 2.1 installed and start messing around with it.

On a related topic - I know you guys are still digging out a bit from the latest hurricane...but any timeline on the updated 2.1 soundset for us esoundz customers?

Cheers!

I'll try this, but Jason from IK Tech Support has responded to my email by saying that the button will be fixed soon. This would indicate that there is a problem, and that they are on it. We shall see.

Meanwhile, I've played a bit with the new STRETCH and am loving it.

Squids,
Have you 'all decided to send a form to the XL upgraders such as myself, so that we can get the free new sounds too? It will be on a DVD correct?
Thanks! Riley

Could someone give me a clue on how to use stretch? I can't recall what sounds Stretch is useful, and in what context people are playing with it. Also some thoughts on using LFOs would be helpful.

Thanks
Gordon

To use Stretch, click on the "synth" tab in Sampletank. Then look to the lower left above the pitch and mod wheels and you'll see where you can select Stretch.

I've just installed 2.x and put the presets in the right folder but the combis don't load. :help:

ST2.1 installed and all seems well with the following left to sort out:

Mouse scroll is host dependant so it works fine in Cubase but not in Live. I have been longing for mouse scroll wheel support and have (of course) just recently been switching from Cubase to Live as my go-to daw.

Stand alone is not working for me. Comes up fine and the settings show all the midi drivers and audio outs properly, but I can't get any midi in at this point. Anybody see anything like this before I go the IK support route?

Import button issue as previously noted.

Dan
Those that can, do. Those that can't, argue about it on k-v-r

I have a problem with importing samples.

When pushing the convert button it shows a window that says "Decoding Source Format" and it will stay there for the rest of the year freezing my host(Vaz 2010).

It does not happend everytime though ! hmmm...

Anyone else having this prob?

Wow, scroll-wheel support makes the world of difference now
Am I an idiot? I can't use my scroll wheel any differently than before (read: not at all), and I didn't see any "enable" option in the "prefs". I also looked through the 2.1 manual and there is no mention of "scroll" or "wheel" in there.

Help?

This I know having had ST2 from the beginning.. It's the nature of what material and when to use stretch. Can you give me an example? Same for LFO. Newbie stuff I know but that's still where I am being somewhat nonplussed by all pf the controls.

Best,
Gordon

OK Beardedone - let's say we have a hammond organ with slow leslie patch (quite a few in ST2/SS2), normally, you would have to rely upon the onboard rotary effects to change to a faster leslie setting, which while nice - the fx are emulations. With Stretch you can recreate dynamic leslie effects from the existing samples.

Elsewhere, the Stretch technology is great at vocal material giving you greater range in sampled phrases at different pitches for example.

It's also great in pure sound-design terms - enabling you to create completely new sounds (especially when importing your own dedicated sfx libraries, like i do).

OK that makes sense I think. I'll have a go tonight.

Thanks Pricer!
