What do you do when a song sounds equally awesome when you simply reverse it, as it does when it's playing forwards at its normal rate?

You copy and paste the reversed song and make your song double the length!

Or you take the reverse version and mix it in with the forward version. :D

I did a remix of Dj Shadow's "Stem /Long Stem" where half way into the song the sampled part is reversed.

Did the Same thing with an old remix of Robert Miles' "Children" - check these 2 tunes out backwards

actually if you listen to some famous compositions, especially duo guitar, you'll notice many parts are combinations of the same sequences played forward and backward. you should try taking that into account when composing. generally you will know when you have a good sounding sequence of notes, because it will indeed sound equally as good forward, or backward. doing combinations of different playing styles with a single melody, sequence, is a very useful way to make the peice sound more complex while sticking to the same general 'feeling'. a very useful technique, and widely used by the most apreciated composers ever known.
