That list sucks. Project5? I don't know anyone who uses that. energyxt users only have a strong presence on KVR.

Feature/number of users wise, it should be: Cubase SX, Logic, FL Studio, Sonar, Protools, and Live.
beat me to it, with the exact same list in mind

I think SX, Logic and Sonar are in the league of their own. The big three.

Protools is where Samplitude is.

More opinions:

Sonar is losing a lot of ground. Seems like a lot of people are dumping it.

Logic has a large chunk. Four producers/close friends of mine dumped PC for Mac so they could keep using it. They were all Cubase converts. We all started out back on pre VST Cubase, and on Atari ST's and that kinda crap. It still gets tons of coverage in music tech mags. It's a pretty killer setup as far as stuff on Mac goes... I just can't stand the sequencing and non cubase way of things though. ;)

Protools is still Protools. You'll find it in just about any commercial studio you walk into.

Until Reason gets extensive audio track support, it will remain a 'beatbox' and will never be considered a complete platform by those who derive income from music production... rewire it, fine, but it's not a proper host. Especially if you do lots of audio tracks and use outboard gear. How many people mix and master recorded audio tracks in Reason? Ok then.

Live has gotten really huge in the last few years.

FL Studio... well... I use it. But I have yet to convince any producers I know into even looking at it. A lot of them still use a lot of outboard gear and aren't interested in going all VSTI. And... I don't think it'll ever live down its association with the likes of Dance eJay etc... Maybe if Image Line renames it.

Anyway, enough wasted time. All this is really pointless you know. :)

uh? is it just a personal "feeling", or do you have any figures to illustrate that statement? :-o

either you're not really good at convincing them or most probably, you only know the most thickheaded of the bunch.

yep, indeed. :)

I'd like to think that SOnar 4 was losing ground but Sonar 5 is catching up on it all again :D
