I heard a commercial the other day that was scored with Mtron, using one of the "rhythms" that was all they used, just one of the rhythm presets and three different keys. I cannot believe someone got paid to do that.

Your foot, along with 4 mail room workers feet that's been at the agency for the last 6 years, 8 'Production Houses' looking for a lucrative contract, and 39 minor to major publishers and trying to get their talent more exposure and royalties.Stupid American Pig wrote:exactly, its just getting yer foot in the door...zircon wrote:No one's stopping you from hitting up a few music libraries and doing that kind of stuff for yourself..
You're going to have one sore foot with all that weight on it.

You get the gig for the commercial and you're in the first meeting with the ad exec with your trusty laptop so you can demostrate some thoughts. The ad exec wants "old sounding kitch" music. You fire up Mtron, play that rhythm patch and ask, what like this?
Ad exec goes that's it exactly, you're a genious!
Sounds like a great gig, but then nothing could be that simple.

well a lot of us have the same or similar tools, it's just being in the right place at the right time for using those tools. sure you might be able to blow the pants off the producers/execs but do they know you at all? maybe this guy or girl scoring the TV show meets deadlines phenominally?
