Help Importing Drum Samples in SampleTank 2

I am trying to import drum samples into SampleTank. I've got a total of about 12 multi layer drums I want to import. The problem is that when I import these samples, even with setting the Root note in the name and in the sample, the samples get spread evenly across the keyboard. I can see where this would work nicely for flute or guitar samples, but I want the drums to stick to the root note I have assigned them only. Does anyone know how to get SampleTank to do this? Or are there any programs that I could try to build ST instruments with wavs? Thanks!

Post a few examples of the filenames you're using. It could be that ST2 is simply misinterpreting the root note in the filename.

I assume that you have root note from name checked, but do you have velocity from name turned on?

Yes, both. I added the 001,002,003,etc later... But I have tried with and with out the 00* numbers, with both root note from name and veloity from name checked.

So, maybe there is just no good way to do this with SampleTank. I am guessing that the automatic keyboard spanning import stuff is what is making this not work for me. So, no big deal! I had seen a post before where someone was making a tool to create SampleTank instruments. Does anyone know if that was ever done, or if there is a similar product available? Thanks!
