oh, and sampletank2.x AU doesn't show up in logic when you want to insert a multi out instrument - only in stereo out.
the old one does though
sheesh.

Had some troubles at first but things seem good now on Tracktion (PC).
Squids--it looks like you've improved the volume levels, which is a big help. 2.x is terrific--thanks for this!

cancelling a pre-analysis just makes it start again, and doesn't actually cancel it.

Squids-
I can't stop messing around with the new ST 2.1 engine. This thing rocks. Quick start up, sounds load in a flash, and no crashing. Heck, the scroll-mouse function alone is worth the price of admission. And the stand-alone feature is a nice touch. Can't wait for the sounds disc!
One question: Is Sonik Synth 2 going to get an engine upgrade now that ST 2.1 is out? The low CPU really makes a huge difference. ST is now back as my 'go to' plug.
Really nice work, guys.

Gotta say that the STRETCH engine is indeed much improved and more usable. The sound is a lot less nosy and grainy, and the engine is much more forgiving to instrument (e.g. guitar) attacks than before!
My biggest dissapointment is that there is still no decent way to make a default MIDI CTL map. I like having the same control map for all projects and all channels, so that I can simply load any instrument I like into any channel I like and start playing with the knobs on my PCR-30 right away. The only way to do this in 2.1, as far as I understand, is to create an empty combi with all MIDI CTL assignments, to be used as a starting template. The problem is that it will be very very tedious doing it for all 16 channels separately (256 repetitive actions for 16 controllers!). Furthermore, once any other (existing) combi is loaded, the assignment will be lost.
Am I missing something here? What exactly are the "greatly enhanced" MIDI CTL capabilities in 2.1?

...thanks for your reply , Kim. The link finally showed up at my user account. But what about the upgrade path for the ST2.1 XL sound-disc - I remember it was said that it would be available only for a short period?Kim (esoundz) wrote:That's correct.loachm wrote:... just a short question - aren't ST1 XL user who had received a grace period upgrade to the ST2 XL engine also eligible to receive the ST2.1 engine and the posibility to buy the new library??That even includes anyone who bought ST1L

I haven't, but IK developers have. Either way, good news eh?SaviorNeeded wrote:Had some troubles at first but things seem good now on Tracktion (PC).

By the way, there may be something that can be done about the combi compatibility issue. I am investigating it and will let you all know soon.

Yes, it does default to a more realistic volume setting (finally)... That's one good thing I can say! ...but loading sounds (slot 1) repeatedly, causes Logic to go down?? ...quite a few times so far. I did move my sounds onto my other internal disk, from the boot drive, but don't know whether that would have anything to do with it?? I can't really tell any difference, frankly since I never used the stretch anyway?? What else changed...

Double the amount of individual outputs, stand alone version, improved resampling engine, improved PS/TS engine with additional parameters like grain (try it out), new Stretch with additional parameters like Harmonic Preservation, syncable lfos, range splits and velocity splits, zone level pan control, scroll wheel support (because of Squids just for you guys) and other stuff.DHR53 wrote:What else changed...

Squids, any chance of a fix so the SS2 combis will work in ST2.1
edit: Ignore me I read in another post that your checking it out.
Apart from the combi thing Im really happy with 2.1...oh and the scroll wheel does`nt work in Live or FL Studio, but then agian thats not really a big deal for me.

This update sucks. Sorry. All the wait for this? You would have thought they were doing waveform display features over at IK. Compatibility issues just send this whirling down the toilet. With minor updates like this, there is no excuse that I shouldnt be able to use my 2.09 projects. Who wants to keep 2.0 and then have 2.1 engines on the same computer. Waste of space, even if just a little. Who keeps FL 5.0 and 5.1 on their computers? AT1 and AT2 makes sense... you could keep them both, they are completely different, but other than a knob or two here, who could tell the difference? How many people use those stretch features? Cmon! What a let down. Dont believe the hype.Squids wrote:Double the amount of individual outputs, stand alone version, improved resampling engine, improved PS/TS engine with additional parameters like grain (try it out), new Stretch with additional parameters like Harmonic Preservation, syncable lfos, range splits and velocity splits, zone level pan control, scroll wheel support (because of Squids just for you guys) and other stuff.DHR53 wrote:What else changed...

it's pathetic, and my posts listing the bugs just seem to get ignored. no multi outs on logic pro? no scroll wheel support?
bloody scroll wheel support!??!?! stuck notes in standalone mode? we're not asking for the moon on a stick here.
there seems to be no REAL new features, and the ones that were supposed to be introduced don't even work.

Listen dude, why dont you go get back to work and make this thing useful and stop trying to mislead us here in the forum. Take off your mask. We know who you are. You arent fooling anyone.BERFAB wrote:Squids-

And what the hell would it matter if SS2 was going to get updated. The sounds and combis should work in ST2.1 you ass.

Ditto. In FL, this is waste. I was looking forward to the scroll wheel feature since browsing was a pain in the ass... for what? It still is. And whomever is praising the fact that the master volume is now at a hearable level should be viciously slapped with the cardboard box. They made a moron mistake setting the volume to default to 64 at first. There is no genius behind bringing up the level and this shouldnt even be regarded. Why dont they just recolor the philharmonik engine, charge me the $50 and call it a day. At least Id be able to take advantage of those sounds without having all of these engines on my computer. The Beatsmith wrote:it's pathetic, and my posts listing the bugs just seem to get ignored. no multi outs on logic pro? no scroll wheel support?
