I'm looking for a sample of a full Chinese Orchestra
String section. Doesn't have to be free or cheap, just good. I've got several Chinese sample CD's, but the focus is generally on individual instruments/loops - erhu, ruan, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can check out some soundfonts at SF2MIDI.com and search for "Chinese Orchestra". You can get a free great erhu from Kongaudio.

Thanks so much D. Actually, I go to SF2MIDI.com all the time. Pretty much the same problem - lots of individual instruments but no ensemble sounds. Also have the ChineeErhu VST and highly recommend it.
Again, no ensemble stuff though.

You could build an ensemble. There is usually a lot of unison playing.

Yep, I've tried that route, but the range of the erhu is pretty limited and I haven't found any good samples of the lower and higher register "hu's". Plus, I think each individual sample would have to have a slightly different attack and decay to get a full orchestra effect, and I'm way to dumb to accomplish such a task. Appreciate the input, though.
