Yeah - mouse scroll doesn't work in EnergyXT - confirmed.
For me - I just follow Sonic Reality.
If SR had decided to build everything around the Kontakt engine, I'd own Kontakt now.
As it is - SR decided on ST - so that's where I am.
I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

Guys, chill a little on slamming IK in the SR forum. I understand that everyone is a critic but if you actually want us to HELP find out about these things we kind of don't want our own forum to be the CENTER of bad mouthing. It is hard for any company to take our forum seriously if that is how people use it. Please just say what doesn't work for you if you want but try to leave out "IK doesn't care. IK this and that". You don't know. It's conjecture. But, what you do know is that one feature isn't working the way you'd like it to. You want it to? Then don't go ballistic on the bad mouthing, at least not in our company forum. You feel it is so necessary to do? Fine, then please do it in other forums then and not something that is attached to Sonic Reality.
Man, this is taking up too much of my time to have to moderate right now. Kim can you hold the fort? I DO have a lot of work to do here. You guys want to see Studiophonik sooner or later? Then just TRY to be constructive and politically sensitive. That's not a lot to ask. Just think about what I am saying before you post. Maybe you can dial back a few damaging comments. You want to sling mud? Sling it at me or SR. I don't want our forum to be famous for making a hard time for the companies we work with. Does that make sense? Think about it.

Re: "scrollwheel was never intended to work". Is incorrect, Beatsmith and I deleted your post because it is not true. No, I am not on a "power trip". I don't need one HERE.
I am not that desperate for one. I run a company and I am happy just to have electric power at the moment.
It just so happens that if the tech support person told you that there is no support for scroll wheel then they are wrong. Perhaps that communication was not made clear (because scroll wheel was supposed to be a surprise, it was never mentioned in the announcements on specs of 2.1). Anyway, there ARE some people here who have been using the scroll wheel in 2.1 RIGHT? So, if it doesn't work in some hosts then it can be looked into to see if it can work or what the deal is. This was an EXTRA.
Actually, I was a bit annoyed by having to moderate so much based on the what sort of protocol we use here. But, I apologize if it came off harsh. I copied Beamith's tech support email that I read outside of the forum just now. I can understand the confusion and frustration of someone like Beatsmith (even if I don't agree with how they are going about communicating in our forum). It just so happens that this comment: "2) SampleTank does not offer scroll wheel support at present" is INCORRECT! That person made a mistake and I will tell the powers that be that this feature (while it may not work in every platform) was added as an extra. Again, it wasn't announced but it IS in there... people have been using it right here on KVR.
Now, if I can spend less time moderating and more time getting work done then maybe I will investigate further to see where, what, why, how scroll wheel works in what formats.

In case my previous post wasn't clear, I wasn't slamming IK, just stating that my primary focus as a customer is on the sounds.
The engine appears adequate to showcase the sounds so I'm pretty happy overall.
I like the double audio outputs and am very happy to see the extra work on STRETCH which could have waited for a more significant upgrade. I'm glad it didn't.
But for me - better ST2 engine really means better sound programming from the pros.
Squids - if you're not frantically working on Studiophonik, could you let us know if you made use of the new STRETCH etc. for the work you did on the ST2XL new soundset?

I wasn't slamming IK - I was just commenting that it's not the most pleasant company to do business with. I don't personally have any big problems with the update - it's not like I care that much about scroll wheel support. And I do like the new STRETCH *alot* - although I can't say it helps me get realistic glissandos or realistic lengthened staccatos or realistic slower or faster vibrato at all, it can make some amazing pads, so I'm glad to have it in ST2 itself.

You know what, even the stuck notes bug is helping me to create music. I'm sick of this "things are supposed to work a certain way" mentality with software.
Y'know, Delay does a lot more than add nice tails to things. Reverb does a lot more than put a sound in a room. Convolution can do a lot more than give a realistic reverb.
Samplers can do a lot more than giving you a Steinway for £200. Now I'm not saying IK should leave all the bugs in, but how about you guys just try and work around the bugs and make music rather than get all frustrated.
Case in point.
Yesterday I was messing around with one of the Symphony Strings patches (I got the pack with the Sonik Synth group buy). Now, I had a midi loop going away, and I changed the portomento transposition setting.
It locked all of the notes currently playing. But those notes were still triggered by subsequent events (even though they were already sounding)
This was in XT. I set the master out to record, and I just kept pressing 1 on the numpad. Pressing 1 in the sequencer makes it jump back to the start of the loop region.
Basically I had a little freeform composition going on that was aided and even started by the bug in Sampletank.
It made me happy to make the piece, so should I be frustrated that the bug is there in the first place??

Hey all,
I posted earlier regarding the scroll wheel working or not, as well. It seems that in the standalone mode on my system it works.
When inserted into Sonar in either DX or VST mode, it does not.
I don't even REALLY care about it that much, though it was a feature that has been so harped on around here as missing, when I heard that it was added, I was somewhat excited simply because I always tried to use it in ST2/SS2 out of habit of using it for other apps...it actually working would save me a slim hair of time, but more, save my aggrivation with MYSELF that the scroll wheel (until this version) wasn't supposed to work, and I couldn't seem to remember that until I rolled the wheel.
Anyway- this is Sonar 5, DX or VST, no scroll wheel for knobs or for patch list scrolling.
So far, otherwise, except for the missing combis, all is well here, though I've not really gotten to DIG into it, it seems stable and I know there are improvemtns to be found.
Thanks, and Have a nice day.

Kevin Gilbert Cover Tune - From Here to There?
Did you know I used to play keys with Kevin or is it a coincidence? Just curious. Good to see either way.

I DID know that and I think it's REALLY cool that I have the opportunity to communicate with someone of your musical caliber...I have that one in all my forum sigs, however, so it's coincidence ALSO.
Do you like the cover?

I would like to sell my SAMPLETANK 2XL. Is this possible and what fees are imposed?

IK charges a $99.00 transfer fee. Maybe they will not charge you if you call them and state your reasons for selling.jack-the-pipe wrote:I would like to sell my SAMPLETANK 2XL. Is this possible and what fees are imposed?

jack-the-pipe, personally i would hold onto the product - you've still got forthcoming upgrades to come as well as cross-grade potential for future products (i assume crossgrade privilages are waived once the product is sold).
Granted, you're not happy with the current upgrade and maybe that of IK/SR work ethic/attitude to the patch upgrade procedure, but compared to other companies and industries, they're still doing a good job - both in supporting the software and customers.

I find it very odd and rare to see someone bad-mouthing SampleTank but praising and even defending Hypersonic. It makes me wonder. But, forums allow people to be anonymous. So be it. Meanwhile, whoever you are, I think you are intending to disregard our forum rules and seem to want to cause damage to companies we work with. As said many times, this isn't appreciated here.jack-the-pipe wrote:I would like to sell my SAMPLETANK 2XL. Is this possible and what fees are imposed?
