So what say, everyone? Wanna try out the new GUI on PLParEQ4? (You really can't do it justice with only one band...)
(it isn't available on the web page, yet... just want to see what your reaction is... if positive, then I'll make it available. But! It will break the old presets...)

Definitely curious here. Not having to scroll down to access all parameters would definitely be useful.
What's the price tag on the 10 band version by the way?
best

havent heard it, but mebbe it just wasnt made for me, which is fine. I rarely rely on EQ mesself, and the Eqs I have to the trick. Just curious though David, why in yer opinion *is* it worth 100 dollars per band? after all this is just code and not hardware.

Well I for one would love a GUI on the 4-band version and good luck David with the 10-band version! You should really try to promote it at http://www.gearslutz.com and at http://recforums.prosoundweb.com/
Cheers!

I take it the price tag is intended for mastering studios. In that case, I'm not sure how well it would compete with $3000+ hardware, despite it smoking all other native VST EQs in terms of transparency. Even if it could touch the best hardware, lord knows that market loves their hardware, and although I hugely respect you guys using an open format instead of hardware or TDM, I don't know how they'd feel about it.
I'd think you'd make a bigger profit by going for a wider market who might be more receptive to your ideas, but who knows.
Don't mean to seem critical, just giving my 2 cents.
Thanks for the awesome work on the freebies BTW.

... why it costs what it does... how about trying to recoup more than 6 years of intense research costs? How about because it is better than anything out there, including the nearest competitor that charges $1,500 USD for theirs? How about, because I'm a nice guy, and my business partners think we should be selling for closer to $6,000 USD to compete more in line with Massenburg and Weiss?
how about...
how about...

I might consider fewer bands for less cost... interesting idea... But nobody will take this seriously if I sell it for $100. ..
And, yes, I gather that mastering engineers are most interested, say, more than your typical mixing engineer. But these are very musical filters as well, and I have been using them on mixdown tracks myself.

You really do have to price it around 1k$ to catch the attention of the serious Mastering/post production market. There's other reasons than licensing costs why TDM plugins cost so much, namely interest from the 'serious' buying public.
Algorithmix Red and Orange EQ costs 1190 euros each and can be had in a bundle for 1990 euros. This makes the 1000$ pricetag of the PLParEQ 10 rather cheap. I'd also go as far as saying that it surpasses the Algorithmix EQs but that's more down to taste.
David, I seriously hope you will get back your research cost. You just need to hone on your marketing skills (namely website, the way you present stuff, GUI (it looks ok but you'd definately sell much better if you hired a true graphics designer that implements a flashy but functional GUI).
Cheers!

The price is fine for what it does. I would however consider adding some useful features that are becoming common in the lower price segment, like an analyzer over-/underlay behind the visual representation of the bands in fft/3rd octave, which speeds up the rough orientation.
More solid gui graphics might be useful also, but not required of course. Will look better in the mags of course.
