Hello,
I've been crawling the web all night to find presets for the JX8p and Alpha Juno without much luck (lots of dead links).

Anyone can hook me up on that or point at some good ressources ?

Thanks a bunch !!!

alpha juno? lame! mine is in the closet.
you should try patching it yourself.. it is probably the most simple synth ever, only beaten in this respect by the juno 106.
the filter sucks, you'll never get any really good sounds out of that thing. the jx8p owns it, i'd sell the juno and stick with the jx8p. on the other hand, neither of them have parameter filtering, so realtime adjustment sounds absolutely horrible unless limited to very specific methods which avoid this problem.

hm, i guess maybe they are purely good as patch-and-play machines that you dont interact with at all. almost all of the use in commercial tracks i've heard has been of some preset patches and the chord learn function.

got bored of this already?

Yeah, I'd agree they're pretty ordinary synths - but they spawned the "hoover" and all those years of horror forever afterwards. More down to good preset patching than the capabilities of the synth, I suppose. But just goes to show that if you know your kit well, even basic synths can do an awful lot. I think I'd still rather have my Alpha working again properly than my 106....At least Alphas had a little bit of flexibility in triggering and envelopes...

Not really arsed that both are going tits-up though. :hihi:
