Record less tracks. Seriously, if it's a good song, then it can stand on it's own. :D

Skip the elaborate instrumentation, like guitars and drums and bass. More gazoo. Less EQ.

Or just hit the freeze button in T, ron. Or render the tracks with Gliss. Or buy more CPU. Or get more EQ-creative with your mic setup.

It's also possible to reduce CPU load by using Dyn 0 setting. But that way GlissEQ sound is a 'bread and butter' one.

by dyn0 you actually mean to turn down the dynamics?

i might actually want this because i feel that gliss is my only track eq now... does lowering the FFT rate also bring it down? or is that only applicable when the vst is visible?

Post

When UI is closed, CPU usage should be lower. So, it's not about FFT.

Indeed, with Dyn=0, dynamic behavior will go away - apparently, it's not what you need. But if so, I do not think it's possible to get a better performance. Dynamic filtering does use a lot of additional CPU in comparison to 'standard' EQing.

thank you aleksey do you think gliss is the optimum choice of your eq's for track by track processing

Post

Yes, among the Voxengo plug-ins it is the optimum choice. Moreover, I believe it's also a good choice if you consider other vendors' equalizers.
