Routing audio from DJ software to a VST effects host

Hi
I am using JacksonDJ (http://www.jacksondj.com/) to mix tunes together (it is a little like Live, without the stupid MP3 limitation).
Its effects are rather limited, though very good. I want to route the audio from JacksonDJ to a VST effects host (preferably a low memory footprint one, like MiniHost of Simple Virtual Host). I have managed to do it using the Virtual Audio Cable program (http://www.ntonyx.com/vac.htm) and using Orion Platinum as the VST effects host (since that works with MME, which VAC uses).
Are there any other (preferably free) solutions that can route the audio from one program through some VST effects hosted in another program and then out to your soundcard using Windows. Audiohijack for Mac and Jack for Linux seems to do similiar things, but I can't find a easy to use Windows version other than VAC.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

What soundcard do you have? I'm using a Audigy with the kxproject drivers which allow me to route audio via ASIO from Windows to my host (FLStudio). I've always assumed that other ASIO cards would allow the same kind of functionality.

erm, well, there's the rub. I use an internal soundcard - Realtek AC97 - erm, I was wondering if there was any way around audio routing even with that card....

Brother, I wish I knew. I've been trying to get djDecks (www.djdecks.be) to do the same with my card's internal routers and have done nothing but crash my system. The best chance is future support for things like ReWire and VSTi in the respective programs. I've already talked to my people about it, and it seems that it will happen eventually (in terms of djDecks being hosted inside something like Bidule). Likewise I suggest you contact the JacksonDJ people and ask them to support either ReWire or VST in the future.

You could try using the ASIO4ALL drivers which will give your internal soundcard an ASIO driver, but I don't think it will allow you to do the routing you need.
Alternatively, buy a SoundBlaster Live for a fiver off ebay and get the kx drivers.
