I was thinking of getting one of these awhile back... I got a used ZOOM amp modeller off of eBay for about the same price; it's okay but I guess I would still be in the market for other unit...

@ SAP (or any other Ampworks users)
How 'twangy' is the reverb? Is it even remotely 'spring-like'? (The ZOOM unit does a decent job of emulating spring-reverb; not entirely convincing but not utterly pathetic either...)
And how noisy is the Ampworks with the distortion cranked up? (The ZOOM unit has a pretty cool "dirty Twin Reverb" setting but the background noise is horrendous, even with a bit of the built-in noise reduction going...)

Man, musiciansfriend has good deals if you get lucky and catch one of their closeouts. I got a couple of Alesis effects boxes for $30 each, and another time a EF-303 groove effects for $50 and some Anion stomp boxes for $10 each. Rock bottom prices I like!

It would be if they could send it to Australia.

Which they apparently can't. :(

i was wondering if they had the bass version on closeout as well...

they do! i ordered that as well....living beyond my means, but i'm getting back into the electric stringed instruments again, these boxes will add more flex...any way you look at it, they re great deals...

thanks again for the heads up SAP,

no feedback on the sound just yet as I only ordered it friday- it should be here tomorrow, and I will let you guys know. I listened to the blues demo on the korg website and thought it was absolutely gorgeous. we'll see if it plays like that in real life, and I will compare it to my Jstation and Revalver.

looks like its discontinued at Musician's Friend, but I saw a few lurking around eBay for around $20...

these reviews seem pretty good

I saw one in a shop today for 200.00 (reduced from 299.00). Which only further enhanced my rage at not being able buy from this seller.

i got the guitar and bass units, i'm VERY happy with both...i really wanted a good bass recording device as i don't have a proper bass mic, i have a twin and a rode mic, i think that would suffice for electric guitar recording...but i really like the "ampworks" for the guitar as well....i have to say that i'm blown away how well they both work...

GOOD TIP MAN-THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH!!!!!! i'm playing a ton more of both guitar and bass from these purchases, i owe you one....

(i hope at some time in the future to share some of the crapo i'm doing...but don't hold yer breath!:) )

Yeah! I love em! Got a condenser mic for $60! Sounds good too! And they always have stuff with cosmetic defects for really cheap.

I ordered one of the Bass models. I figure my guitar needs (as little as they are, heh) are more than covered with my Pod XT and I figure this'll do nicely (or at least half-assedly) for the low-end of the stringed insturment section. :hihi:
