since it isn´t an plugin (although it was my initial purpose) the CPU load it consumes depends on where you use these samples, and how much sounds you play at once!
(and of course, which kind of sampler, host, cpu ...)

the only thing i´m not sure about it, which formats it should be available in.

All you really need is sf2 format.
Most soft samplers, includng:
Giga
Halion
Kontakt

can import Sondfonts.

No need to support any exotic formats.

Yeah. Also, can you go into a little more depth about the sample content? Is it all synths or is there acoustic stuff in there too?

There will be mostly ambient stuff in there, only a bunch of acoustic stuff like some guitars, windstuff and flutes, to mention a few.

(already started recording my own yamaha acoustic-guitar )

the focus will be still on atmospherical sounds, textures, drones, feedbacks, effects, disharmonics, scapes... moving pads... bright pads... well, just everything you can imagine in these categories.

EDIT: It´s a sample-collection with multi-sampled instrumens. Sometime later i will perhaps do a VST-Interface for it! Release is scheduled before Christmas

Emagic EXS Mac, is exactly the same as PC,
only the *.exs was different I think.
Look at the "ProSample" CDs how I've done it.

@ttoz: that could be a problem. but since i´m already sampling most of fx into the sounds i do not really need lfo and glide stuff for example. (ok, gliding perhaps).

but this should be supported by hopefully all big samplers that can import soundfonts? if not - okay, the sounds will rock anyway

as for myself, i wouldn't buy a pads only synth at any price. i don't know why anyone would buy something with just pads, but i guess peeps do that.
