thanx bluedad, you learn something new everyday...I actually have a piano, or well my mother does but it's kinda now mine...it's quite old, at least 60 years old, but except for the faded keys it's in flawless shape. My sister got it when my aunt died. But the moving it across by ferry to the island where she lived never happened. So it sit's in my mothers condo...but really the only reason my mother keeps it is because we are officially out of room...we're full, there's no more room at the inn..

really oneday I'm gonna take pictures...my satck is less the 18" from my bed...we have a very nice stocked kitchen...too bad it's tiny...the place is neat at all times cause whacko is a neat freak...but we got way too much stuff...

Thing about tuning guitars is you can you can do it sitting down and you don't need to mess with any greasy wrenches and you can just hook it up to a tuner. Piano on the other hand, you constantly have to be sticking your head under the lid, trying to wrench open bolts that haven't budged for years while trying to find the right key on the keyboard and even though you could conceivably do with a tuner I've only seen it being done with a pitch fork tuner. So I'd go for the guitar.
