I bought the Emu 0404 for one of my puters and the software bundled was probably the original cd, Cubasis and Wavelab lite.
Wavelab lite is fine but Cubasis was absolutely useless and no doubt the reason they have upgraded the bundled CD to include Cubase LE, Sonar lite and Abelton for Emu.
These are all working apps albeit slimmed down but perfectly useful for me.
Are users entitled to upgraded bundled CD's for their hardware?
I've emailed Emu and true to form its been weeks with no reply.
any thoughts guys...

They have a legal out, so I'd doubt it.
The old "product specifications may change without notice" blurb frees them from any legal obligation along those lines.

shite, you may have a point there,
but the actual specs on the card haven't changed, only the bundled CD,
either way, it be nice for Emu to at least tell me,
thanx ew

However, in this specific case, Emu is offering the new software bundle to existing users for $20-$25 depending on your card.

I'm considering it. Mainly for the Proteus X... the software bundle that came with my EMU1820 came with the *full* version of Cubase VST 5. Granted, thats slightly outdated, but its the full version, no LE or Cubasis stripped down to the point of uselessness crap.
But the Proteus X... that would be nice. More cool sounds to play with.

I got ProteusX LE with my XBoard - It's certainly very usable, despite being a 'LE'
