I just felt it was so mindmeltingly poor the way it is now that it warranted mentioning more than once  [/RedDwarf-ism]

Rock, I am very sorry, but to force us to choose between just 3 in this goodiebag is just cruel. I choose them all. But this is my top 8, the 3 on top is my top 3.. Sigh..

For the love of God - 40 !
And other 2 :
I think many od the features are combined with each other - making one feature without other is useless :
like controlling T2 with MIDI controller - there are several points of this to implement ;)

And the last one - clip grouping.

But ... maybe all of it ? :)

But smoother GUI is no.1 for me. Sessions with more then 40 tracks are totally crappy :( When i analyze spectrum etc. i must go to T1 or other software - cuz T2 is just to slow (GUI refresh rate is about ... 1 frame per 5 seconds - with less then a half CPU power, less then a half ram used)

for a mixer feature why not just buy a nice little midi mixer where you have the faders right there and fade the tracks?

Just a question. Isn't "3 - ACID-like Loop Functionality" and "33 - Native Timestrech" the exact same thing, and why do we want this in a sequencer? If you use loop for music making instead of composing your own stuff, wouldn't a program like Acid be 100 times better than Tracktion could ever be?

Post

longimanus: You can actually "compose" your own loops you know? And for those of us who combine working with loops and "real" instruments it would be great to have a good native timestretch in Tracktion. And by the number of votes I think we can see quite clearly it´s a feature many of us would like to see in the future...

I think a great timestretch algorhythm would be needed to have ACID functionality, but that #3 would require additionaly features... Ability to deal with acidized files, quick and easy means to transpose (I like acid's + and -), loop painting and perhaps others.

Well, even the best timestrech I've heard cannot stretch very far before sounding weird, no more than a few (very few) bpm higher or lower (depending on the instrument, of course).

Exactly why I asked the question. If it's such an important features for so many, why not use a program that was built from the ground up for this single functionality like Acid. It took years to develop Acid, with this single purpose in mind, and to expect the same functionality from a program that wasn't built for that within a few weeks or months or years even is not very realistic imo.

Unless Mackie buys a ready made algo and integrate it, but then we can say goodbye to cheap upgrade...might as well buy Acid and rewire it.

Ah ok, I understand thanks.
