Dear Urs Heckmann

Are you planning to implement Microtuning in your products, eg. ZEBRA.

I think that would be a GREAT enhancement to your products (at least for me). I would like to use your soft synth ZEBRA but without Microtuning- which I need for my compositions - I cannot use it now ...

If you plan to implement Microtuning, please use the SCALA format:

Thanks

Yes, .tun file support is one of the things I've got in the pipeline for Zebra2.

Hi

Thank you for the answer.

Why are you planning to use the .tun and not the .scl format (Scala)?

I personally prefer the .scl format which eg. Logic 7 is using. For me the advantage of the .sca file format is (as en enduser) that i can write .scl files by "hand" quite easy. To implement .tun files I would need a converter programm like Max Magic Microtuner. That means one program more to handle and additional costs.

Hi,

I must admit, I'm gonna ad .tun support because it's so easy for me to handle. You just drop them inbetween the normal presets, they'll be colour coded in the preset browser and boom there you go. This works fast for me, because I don't even have to write much code or a special user interface control, I just have to parse this into my internal tuning scheme.

I may add .scl support later, when everything is finished and when I have a couple of days to do more about it. I also want to support Midi tuning protocol at one point, so that you can use Logic 7 to control the tuning!

There might even be a tuning editor inside of Z2 one day. I just havn't dealed with this stuff enough to be certain of all the requirements needed.

Cheers,

;) Urs
