yep, I just thought it was prettier without the lonely button below the tracks, point taken though.
- true, perhaps you could put it on the "Arranger Beats [4] line" just above the tracks?
that sounds like the perfect compromise to me.. leaves everything visible just fine without making the gui bigger.

I agree

Would it be possible to look at making the the colours customisable or at least making the scroll bar and zoom level slightly bigger/greater? My laptop's native resolution is 1920x1200(!) and its -very- hard to accurately see what I'm clicking sometimes; particularly with the current colour scheme and gui object sizes.

The thread creator's suggestion of making the mouse pointer into a double headed horizontal arrow when its hovering over an event border would be very nice as well.

Once again, great toy - not often that I buy something 1 day after trying the demo! :D

Was the same for me. Tried the demo and just had to get my hands on the full version.

wtf?? my laptop only has 1024x768 (ok, it's 3 years old ;)) and my desktop is running the crt at 1280x960 and the tft at 1024x768.. so i never realised that it might be hard to view on such high resolutions. but i guess you'll have that prob with other software too.. ;)

in the current version 1.1 a double headed arrow is used in the slicer, in the arrangement-view the ability to move the events is indicated by the hand-icon which makes more sense as you can move events anytime while hovering over the event (not only by dragging the startmark). the area where events can be removed is indicated by the highlighting of the startmark.

enjoy, it's worth every cent. :)

1920x1200 is pretty high. Liveslice has been designed on 1450x1050, and it's pretty comfortable there. I've considered customizable colors, and it's definately possible, I think it's already on my list actually. Adding a global zoom is pretty complicated.
Perhaps when you get to know the gui a little better you can find your way?

how about an option to double everything in size? Kinda like you can in winamp whereby pressing a button doubles every pixel? If not, I guess like you said, familiarity over time with the gui will help.

That's an ok "brute force" solution I guess. It will fill your whole screen at that size though! I'll look at it, but no promises.

Saving ACIDized files
I will not always want LiveSlice to overwrite my wave files when I click Save. So could there be a Settings value for "Overwrite ACIDized files on Save" Yes/No?

If it is set to No, LiveSlice could use a new file name (perhaps, adding "_LS" to the existing file name?)

Alternatively, perhaps a "Save As" button, which pops up a dialogue window with the current file name which is editable, and OK and Cancel buttons.

Save as functionality is nice to have, I'll add it to the list

While you have got your list out: :)
  • Preview Events (plus their parameters) by eight-clicking the event,
  • Show the track grid lines even when an Event crosses them (e.g. an event that lasts for 1/16 when the Snap grid is 1/32T)
  • It would be useful to be able to see which Loops/Slice an Event is, so that I can fine-tune the slice's start or end positions

Post

way ahead of you mr. Darkstar :)

all three are already on my list. #2 is already implemented :-)

I should probably publish that list one of these days...

and then, it's quite fun to be able to keep writing "already on the list"

FR01 - browser shortcuts
- At the moment, we can define the folder to be displayed initially when LiveSlice is opened.
- Could there be 4 buttons at the top of the Browser as shortcuts to 4 folders?
- The folders would be defined on the Settings page.
- I wanted to load loops from several "favourite" folders and browsing took a bit of time

FR03 - Slicer and Arranger lengths
- can we have 32 on the right-click [beats] values, for consistency (in Slicer and Arranger)

FR04 - Adding a track
- When you click [Add track] can the Arranger scroll up automatically to show the new track as the bottom track in the window)?
- this would avoid me scrolling to get to the new track

Post

and where is FR02? ;)

but seriously, these would be nice additions.

Post

:P I'm saving that one up
