I know this may not be the most appropiate forum for this, but I've ran into a problem and would be very grateful for any assistance.

I'm trying to install Logic Pro 7 on my new G5 (OS X.4; Tiger). When installing though, I get a message saying "You have chosen to install this software on a volume which includes a newer version", and installing Logic requires that I let it overight some existing files with the older ones that come with Logic. It does not even tell me what these files are, and it won't let me proceed without saying yes to this.

What are these newer files it insists on replacing? -Are they important? - For all I know it could be talking about the whole operating system, or just a few insignificant files. Obviosuly I don't want to get rid of important files. - What do I do? - Help!

Probably should post this over at OSXAudio.com All Mac experts over there... But beyond that, did you have an install on the machine already?? Seems like I remember something about an error in Tiger that pops up when installing, but I can't remember what the solution was... Ask over at OSXAudio, though and I'm sure you'll get an answer pretty quick!!

The Logic installer doesn't touch the Operating system at all. No app installer is allowed to do that. So don't worry about hosing your system. I have had no problems installing/reinstalling Logic, and I've done so several times...

The only files written by the Logic installer are in the Applications folder, and the /library/Application Support/Logic folder.

Try reapiring permissions (I know, that's what every one says, but its worth a try.
