is that possible?
sonar, minihost, and chainer tie up the soundcard.
sonar has a "share drivers with other programs" option but i guess i just don't get it cuz it doesn't work for me.

Another option would be dmi's VST>Winamp bridge that allows you to sync Wianmp to your song host position (IIRC)
Get it HERE

even though you may ignore me Politicat, you can easily do this in Sonar. If I am making a cover version of a song I just load up the MP3 and play right along with it.

mp3play...plays fine in my host sonar, but it seems to interfere with the synth (i get no sound). also, midi notes are mapped to stop/play etc and mp3play gets stopped (or whatever) unintentionally.
is there a way to disable the midi notes being sent to mp3play? (i cud't find one) and what about the interference(?) with the synth?

ok, but...well, you know.Stupid American Pig wrote:even though you may ignore me Politicat
about your suggestion...i've been loading songs into a track that way, but when i just want to jam on a vst synth i need an easy way to have a song list play automatically. i also like to jam to streaming stations.

What sort of soundcard do you have? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have any of those kinds of problems with either of my computers, even on the on-board sound-chips.

yeah, i'm sure my soundcard is part of the problem. i finally worked it all out using chainer. btw, chainer is a nice simple way to play around with layered synths and effects too.
thx again y'all!
