no freakin' way Barry Williams will ever be hip. no way..
I wonder how close he got to be with Maureen McCormick?
She was my second love! (after Diana Rigg of course!)

actually you're couldn't be any more wrong...that is not ornamentation...the design is for recording, the multi sound holes and the placement of them there of are for a completely practical purpose. When I bought the guitar I demo-ed several other guitars with a hard disc recorder. Not only was it the best recording guitar I tried, it was also the quietest, which for me in an apartment and doing my playing late at nite after the family is in bed makes that high priority.GypsyJazz wrote:hehe I was just about to post how ugly it looked.

The placement of the holes more focus what acoustic sound there is coming out to the player's ears and are not designed to deliver the sound to the audience (or recorder), the electronics and design handle that.
Also when putting a big condesor mic at about the 15th fret it picks up much more sound then it would with a guitar with a typical sound hole, as you can see the mic would actually be closer sound holes. But do to the internal structure, bowl shape and the ports it is very much more a "tuned" tone...

Why yes, that *is* my guitar!
Check out the pic of my studio, all the way to the right.
Well, I assume it's the same model, at least: Ovation Celebrity Deluxe, Nodel No. CS 257. Though the sticker seen through the soundholes on his looks white, while mine is blue.
It's Ovation's cheap line, but I like it: the internal mic and pre (with EQ) are extremely handy for recording.

actually no, his is a more expensive model (look at tha fret markers)...mine is a CS 257, I almost got a blue one, but of the myriad of guitars I played that week (the week after we won 10k) that guitar, not just the model was the one I was most comfortable with and best suited my needs. (I don't choose guitars tbh, they pick me)...Markleford wrote:Why yes, that *is* my guitar!Check out the pic of my studio, all the way to the right.

actually if you flip the guitar upside down the lower one looks like "wile e coyote"...however I dont think it's all the bad...but even if it was, remember I said I bought this for recording...so the only two things that matter is comfort and tone...it score 10 on bth for mr.jens wrote:what's around the holes is obviously ornamentation and it is fugly as hell!Hink wrote:actually you're couldn't be any more wrong...that is not ornamentation...the design is[...]GypsyJazz wrote:hehe I was just about to post how ugly it looked.

yeah - who cares about the looks if it sounds great and feels good - I'm envious anyway!
