Yup, I love the VAT being added too. Fortunately I could do direct debiting with my paypal account, as I also had 5 euro too little... Try it, if you have a verified bank account it will let you do that too.

Don't want that to burn a hole in your pocket! Just don't get married if you want to keep that addiction thriving.multree wrote:nope I don't have a verified bank account... but well... guess I'll need to find something else to buy... since I can't stand to have money on my paypal accountPaulie Phonick wrote:Yup, I love the VAT being added too. i'm liking the flavour of Marquis, and it can be quite transparent if you change settings
the key signal filtering is a great feature too. The more I think about it, the more I realise how helpful it is. For example, you could be compressing a kick drum with it during mixing, and realise the "click" of the kick is too much... then you could adjust the key filtering curve (using settings that would compress/lower the level of the quick "click" transient) so that the click could be made less prominent while maintaining the punch of the rest of the kick. Though am I right in thinking, in this example, you could actual boost the frequencies around the click in the key signal filtering graph so they get compressed more... is this correct? the manual isn't overly clear on how it works

I didn't know Marquis was capable of faster than light speed travel... Can you post some presets for me to reverse engineer?

Hi AlekseyAleksey Vaneev wrote:scam_artist, this is right - if you boost key freqs they are compressed more... These are basic audio engineer education things (like metering, dBs and frequencies) - I do not think they should go into the manual.
You're right, I just hadn't thought it through properly, as I'm still learning. But it wouldn't hurt to put a sentence in the manual saying "If you boost a certain frequency range, it means the compressor will reduce their gain more" or something like that. That's all it needs, one sentence

Thanks for Marquis and Crunchessor, which I'm learning better every day and therefore finding out how excellent they are

Na, top secret stuff. It's all in the three undocumented release countour knobs. Actually it's a time warp thingy. Well, kinda ...Paulie Phonick wrote:I didn't know Marquis was capable of faster than light speed travel... Can you post some presets for me to reverse engineer?

I reckon the CPU load is totally worth it, and it's not terrible (could be worse!)Armadillo wrote: I wish the cpu load could be decreased. But the sound is very good though.

Sure. It's just that if it uses 2% more than compressor Y, then over 40 channels, that's hmm... let's see....80% more CPUscam_artist wrote:I reckon the CPU load is totally worth it, and it's not terrible (could be worse!)Armadillo wrote: I wish the cpu load could be decreased.
