Cubase SE compared to SX/SL

Ive been looking at purchasing Cubase 3 but I find it hard to tell all the many different versions apart. SX and SL are too pricy for me, so I was wondering what is missing from these versions in Cubase SE?

Hi there, I have SE out grown it and am looking to upgrade to SL or even a different sequencer altogether.
Quite a lot of difference between SE and the other two. SE is great for a beginer(me a year+half ago) but does not come with any instruments unless you buy is as the studiocase bundle. It has everything you need to make+mix a descent tune. It still comes with essential effects though like delays,reverb modulators etc.
SL+SX are more pro offering shedloads more features but with a steeper learning curve. If your going to use more than 34 vsti's at once and need features like suround sound go for SX. If not I think SL provides great value and worth getting.
Dont forget if you are a begginer and buy SE, they do offer upgrades to SL+SX.

I have SE, redord acoustic music and rock & roll, it does everything i need. In hindsite i probably should have gone with a presonus firebox (comes bundled with LE) or something. After buying my soundcard and copy of SE locally the total cost was only margionally less than ordering the firebox off ebay.

ok thanks for your replies. But Im still looking for some more specific facts about the differences between the various Cubase versions.
After much search I finally found a pdf with feature comparisons (the link on steinbergs own website is dead
) but this comparison seem to have some mistakes according to user statements.
So I would like to hear from any Cubase SE users around here about certain things:
1) Does CubaseSE have FX return channels?
2) Does CubaseSE allow stacked recording?
3) Does CubaseSE have Quadro group channels?
