Accoustic guitar sound in other tunings?

Just wanted to add more info here about this....

This Tuning is one type of Drop tuned D Tuning that guitarists would use alot on the real guitar :-)
It is tuned by keeping the whole guitar at proper pitch and dropping only the 2 - E strings down to a D. So this set is close to that but the Drop D note on the High E string is simulated by using the D note in that Octave. All the rest of the strings are suppose to be at proper pitch.
So it works pretty well for this Particular Tuning. A Simple Drop D that is very popular amongst Guitarists.

Now if i sampled chords with the drop tuning ... then i would want to capture the sounds of all the strings with proper overtones and Harmonics etc. But with Notes this is not so great to do as it sounds Noisey in the individual samples. And believe me acoustics can be noisey enough on their own to record, so some isolation of strings is sometimes needed for certain sample work or particular sets.

Anyways i am real happy with this 12 string set. It has a Big Alternative type tone to it! We caught some Low end in it for the Grunge - Alt Sound. Yet it can be EQed to your liking for all other styles too.

Back to the old line .... One set won't do it all ;-) so you have to remember that this set is only about 50 meg of the included 1.2 Gig of content.
And we will, and are keeping new sets / styles coming out all the time.

Hellou folks,

Was wondering is it possible to do MIDI program to play chords like Cadd9 or Em7 or Dsus4?

Also, we are all talking about ManyGuitar here aren't we? When is this plan for release? and at what price are we estimating here?

If you mean can you push 1 button or note and have those chords ... then the answer is no. But if you know how to play / program midi using piano roll or real time midi recording / playing then chords are possible. There is some basic 1 note chords included where you can play 1 note and a chord sounds but no odd chords so to speak.
I will post a Demo soon though that shows what i mean and how you get chords and strums from the note sets.
ToTc just sent me a Demo tonight that is incredible.
It shows this 12 string set we are talking about too.

Release should be within a weekish but we keep adding stuff and our main coder Aldo just got out of the hospital too from an unexpected accident. Reports at the moment are that he is alright. I'll know more soon.

I have another new surprise feature / added bonus to show pretty quick too.

There is a thread about ManyGuitar in our forum here Jess if you want all the info we have released.

I'll be candid with ya, I was evaluating RealGuitar and I find pros/cons with them. They need to use special combination of keys from the MIDI/edit via piano roll to get special chords sound like Cadd9 or Em7. That's a fair approach and afterall there's no other way that I can think of, anyway.

I'm expecting the sky if I ask for funky chords that even most decent guitarist barely plays, but I think Em7 and Cadd9 are very common. Pls clarify the possibilities of playing these chords?

Lastly, I've not whatso ever ManyStation, UBK, etc experience and don't intend to get any of them as I'm only intereted in a VSTi ManyGuitar...si this still good? What's the estimated price?

I know of some midi vst plugins that produce cords. I forgotten names and exact features and I currently don't have the time to look into things (not a bit help, I know :( ) but maybe someone else might know...

I just played the chords quick on my keyboard controller and recorded them for you to hear. So nothing fancy. But if you know the notes they are easy enough to play. (If you don't know the notes then just look at a chordchart ...it is easy enough to then play them)
A cadd9 and a Em7 are chorded in the background here.

http://www.manytone.com/music/ManyGuitar_Cadd9_Em7.mp3

Now that is simple played chords
If you want a better demo of programming chords then listen to this:
(Which also features this 12 string we are talking about)
http://www.manytone.com/music/ManyGuita ... umming.mp3

But it takes skill to play / program like that. That was ToTc ... more on this tune in the below thread including another version of it with a strat strumming.

Also the thread you mentioned above ... that is in the instrument forum.
There is another thread similiar in our forum that has more info in it. Find it here:

Also jess if you are interested..... the application Berend mentioned is called chordspace.
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1945.html

You can also search it here in the kvr forum for info on it. It is a free app for hooking up to VSTi instruments like ManyGuitar to make chords for you.

But at this time ManyGuitar has nothing like that built into it. Another thing Users can do though, is just download some free midi files and then rearrange / transpose the chords and strums to your own songs.
Sort of use the files as a construction kit. This works pretty well if you are not a good player / programmer.

Okay...that's it ... I need to get this work done here today ;-)

Did you use a combination of C E G D on the keyboard to play Cadd9? And how about Em7?

I don't have sharp ear so can't really tell the chords are all good. But, is there a chord indicator in ManyGuitar to tell the user what's playing?

By any chance I can obtain a limited trial/demo of ManyGuitar.

Downloaded it, but couldn't hack out how to use it. I think that's OK as I'll be fine with playing the keyboards to get the chords I want..else I can edit the MIDI file.

Hi

Yes. See here for charts if you want.

I played those notes on the keys

>is there a chord indicator in ManyGuitar to tell the user what's playing? <

No

>By any chance I can obtain a limited trial/demo of ManyGuitar.<

After release we will have a demo version.

No ... the post is titled and looks the same but it is a Different post in our company forum with more pages in it.

That chordspace does work a treat so if you have trouble with it ....just search the forum as there are tips around here for using it.

Yep, got Chordspace working thanks to http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... chordspace

For my requirements, it's not an essential product. The key is whether ManyGuitar could response accordingly with various combinations of MIDI keys.

Look forward to your release. Can you add me to your mailing list?
