Squids wrote:Also, we have a version of it on CD I think. I will see if there is possibly a way to put the whole thing (original long version) on a DVD and maybe even give it away on esoundz to anyone who ordered Philharmonik! Hey, it's my video! ;) Why not? :D We'll see anyway.
You can throw it in the pack of my current Psychic Horns order. :hyper:

I, too, would prefer the videos in another format.

I downloaded the demo, but was unabled to run it on my Internet-connected machine, which runs Windows ME and QuickTime6. When I tried to upgrade to QT7, I found it was unavailable for WindowsME machine. I'd rather not have to install QuickTime on my newer music computer.

Thanks for thinking about alternatives.

I agree about the new version of Quicktime for the PC.

I was able to watch the videos though by playing it through the Windows version of iTunes.

If that helps anyone.

I think iTunes comes with the Quicktime codec by default which is why you can see it. If you update iTunes, you get the latest Quicktime codec.

In fact, I'm not sure if there is any other delivery mechanism these days for the Quicktime codec except by iTunes. Is that right?

i find it quite annoying that the two software suites are tied to each other. i guess iTunes is dependent on quicktime, therefore if you want to be running the latest iTunes6 you need QT7. but i dont care about iTunes and I dont understand why I need to install it every time i chose to install a new quicktime

it's my suspicion that Apple actually wants QT7 PC to suck for reasons i dont have to explain. iTunes no, that will always be rock solid for iPod users. i'm so bloody miffed.

It's funny. I do all this work to make a video and you guys are talking about the format! Anyone actually watch it? ;) What parts did you guys like in particular? Did you pick up any useful tips? Did anyone see it and rush out to buy it? Did anyone who already owned it get something out of the video?

I hope it was useful.

Actually, you can get the latest quicktime WITHOUT iTunes attached, but it is not heavily advertised by Apple.

Here is the link to the latest QuickTime 7 standalone player (at least when I installed it, there was NO iTunes installed):

When I installed QT 7 it made all my Quicktime files stutter. In the past I could fix this by changing the audio buffer, but with this version I couldn't find that setting. So I uninstalled it and when back to 6.

Having said that, I can't watch these videos. I've tried a number of different players that claim to do mp4, but none of them are showing video. I'd like to watch these videos, but at this point I'm feeling pretty frustrated.

I kinda commented already. Thought it was presented very well but it felt a little more like advertising than educational. That said - the section on STRETCH I found to be very useful.

I believe people seeing that should rush out and buy Miro because it's quite apparent that it's totally ace! :D

The videos converted me.

I hope to purchase it in the foreseeable future.

Yeah we're trying to work out the kinks so we CAN watch it :D ! i might upgrade back to 7 just to watch this, and the downgrade again after it's over.

Wow. That stretch thing is remarkable! That solves a lot of my sequencing problems. :)

Although I am a big sequencer guy, I love to be able to play things live on my keyboard, which is why I am so impressed by the video with the live keyboard playing.

We'll see if this is something I can afford in the near future. :)
