...I like Voxengo's somewhat retro cold and surgical look. If a plugin GUI was not to be decorative, this is what it should look like. It's no necessary to have pretty lights all the time. These are very straight forward GUI's that work great for great plugins. Sometimes it's nice to have a quiet GUI.

Agreed - the Voxengo GUI is simple and functional. Very nice indeed...

I like WaveArts plugin - reminds me of Sony Oxford or Uad Cambridge design, nice.

why all this moaning about the looks of Voxengo plugins?

It might not be as good looking as Elemental audio's plugins but it's a lot better looking than Live, Tracktion and Concrete FX's plugins... IMO.
