I'm very tempted to buy the Miroslav... But I'm going to wait and see how my financial situation turns out to be in december.

Me too. Been playing with the demo version and, as I remembered from a while back, it sounds pretty good. I expect v2 to sound better -- Squids hasn't steered me wrong yet.

Just a little Amplitube added to some synths or samples makes a lot of difference. I've been trying it out on synths like FM7 and various ARP emulators that I think of as having thin or sharp sounds, and enjoying the gutsiness AT brings to the table.

Even at the (n)-grade price it ain't cheap, but it's barely within my reach... barely. So I done went an' carped that there diem while the sun shone.

My guess would be to buy one of the packages at Esoundz' website that comes bundled with ST2LE - but calculate whether that price plus the crossgrade price is less expensive than buying outright at SR's prices (which are pretty good)... it looks like you can do well either way via Esoundz' website.

It is always a good feeling when you can turn someone onto a really good deal and benefit from it yourself. Whether that is epointz referals for you guys or if it is me telling you how to take advantage of a great promo like this. I think we've sold more upgrade/crossgrades in the last week than we ever have before on esoundz. Thanks. We appreciate that support. Even though we make less money on the crossgrade/upgrades than the full versions, the amount of people that have taken advantage of it completely makes up for that! Kind of like how group buys work. It's like, if we have good communication with customers and good word of mouth then we can afford to sell it for less (even though this is something any dealer can do because they are retail products and it is an IK promo... just a matter of whether they really care enough to tell their customers how to take advantage of it!).

But, this is one of the things that makes esoundz a little different. We're dedicated to what we sell.

All reety all righty, me Amplitube has done arriven along with the C7 Refill. Severely fast delivery. Shame the UPS driver had to be out at 7:40 pm or so, but them's the breaks.

This almost makes up for 1) my workday being really, really frustrating and 2) Isabella of Spain being such an irksome little snot (I'll probably have to go to war with her sooner or later, but my mechanized infantry and modern armor and battleships will make short work of her laughable musketmen and cavalry and -- I kid you not -- galleons; Spain will soon be an annex of mighty India).

:lol:

But - not being a fellow compatriot of Croatan, I know not of what you speak. Us yankees are just so world-illiterate at times. Enlighten me - please.

Squids-
I'm interested in the Studio Bundle crossgrade, but it only makes sense to me if the purchase includes a free Amplitube 2 upgrade and free ST 2.1 sound disc(s). I can't find confirmation of this on the IK Multimedia site. Can you confirm that this is the case or point me to a link?

Thanks

@lethe:

I'm playing Civilization IV -- latest in a wonderful and addictive series of games -- as Mohandas Gandhi of India, and all my AI opponents are reasonably good folks, considering the inevitable tensions of conflicting goals... all except Isabella.

Genghis Khan is a little irritable but stays peaceable even as I gain his cities via cultural dominance (no war needed). The other ruler on my original continent, Montezuma of the Aztecs, hasn't been bothering me lately but he's a good guy. Genghis and Monty both converted to my main religion (Judaism) early on, so all game long we've got along great.

On the other side of the world we have non-Jewish countries. Julius Caesar ("Hi! Care for a salad? Made it myself.") of Rome has been getting a little antsy lately but knows he can't mess with me. I have defensive alliances with Cyrus of Persia and the Inca ruler, Huayna (I call him "Wayne") Capac of Tahuantinsuyu, so they've become very close friends of India.

That leaves Isabella the Irritable and Snide, who historically was a virulently anti-Semitic wretch whom I won't mind at all wiping off the map if it comes to that.

Gandhi gets mean. Grar.

:lol: Feeling megalomaniacal lately?

Oh my, yes.

I suppose Jack Thompson, the loud-mouthed crusading lawyer who gets endless publicity from preaching that video games turn people into violently insane sociopaths, would claim Civ is training me to be a world dictator. (Funny, I've never started a war, just ended them in ways the perpetrators really didn't like. :-D)

Post

I am not too fond of video games myself. When I see how much time kids and adults can waste playing endlessly I get really pissed.

Post

I enjoy a few. The Civ series has always been a favorite of mine. Black and White is another good'un, and Microsoft Flight Simulator (not exactly a game but near enough). Chess is fun now and then, though I invariably get stomped into the dust.

The time I've spent playing I don't consider wasted. If I weren't playing I'd be working, and I do that just about all day long, nearly every day of the year. Except while posting to KVR, that is. :-}

Anyway, enough OT-ness for the moment. Back to (yuppers) WORK. =>_<=

Post

I'm just too old to get it I guess.

Post

I'm about half a century old. :-) First computer game I ever played was probably "Flicksie the Furtherest" using IBM punch-cards instead of playing cards, in the late 1960s when I was learning FORTRAN. (I expected that to be a valuable job skill. Ha! Ha!)

I wasn't terribly good at that game either... :-D

Post

Hey me too I'm over 51. I can sympathize with games addiction somewhat having gone bit nuts with Saduku lately.
