Phase Plugins

I need some help classifying the different phase plugins I am trying out.

Tritone Digital Phasetone
MGAudio MGPhaseShifter (very unforunately still in alpha)
Voxengo PHP-79 (demo-ing)

...can anyone tell me why I feel that the MGAudio plugin is the black sheep of this lot? What is it that is different (if at all) and how come it does not cause an initial delay?
