When there are too many VST plugins to choose from the list can be made to scroll up/down, but it's painfully slow. Is there some kind of TweakUI/registry setting to speed it up?

Create sub directories within the effects and synth directories. Makes life much easier to have categories instead.

Still neatly displays Steinberg's wisdom in having one folder for all you VST instruments and effects. Guess they really didn't think the format stood a chance...
It's not helping any that most installers default to dump their dlls in %VSTplugins%-root - or even the hardcoded path of C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins\ ... numbskulls

What Devon said, and DX is a bigger problem.
VST(S) should be arranged either by developer, or function.
I suggest the later if you have a lot of FX.

you can have as many vst folders as you like in cubase
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Sorry, should've been more generalistic. For example you can instance Guitar Rig in Bidule and there's a scrolling list that shows every parameter that's automatable by MIDI. It's like 4 screens long so going from top to bottom takes ages. I'd like a setting to speed up such scrolling, which is probably OS-wide, not related to any app.
